Well, i believe in a "higher force" than can drive situations and make things better or even worse. For some this is called God, others considers it to be a Universe Power, i just don't give it a name but feel that something exists.

Today, with this post, i would like to sarcastically thank this "force" for making my life more and more difficult and unworthy to live:

- thank you for not allowing me to meet real LOVE, making me meet unworthy people with whom I spent my best years
- thank you for making my former boyfriends happily living and leaving me in a constant state of unhappiness, like if they deserve much more than I do
- thank you for making me prematurely infertile, so that i cannot achieve anymore one of the best dreams of my file
- thank you for my anxiety and depression issues, that together with a vertigo disorder make my life even worse everyday
- thank you for considering me just like a pawn to move around as you wish
- thank you for making me pay today for all my past "mistakes" and bad choices, so that i was not happy yesterday nor i am today

I just want to tell this higher force that it is actually in its power to drive me crazy and devastate my life, but i am not willing to accept this treatment anymore.
So, may it just F**K O*F and keep doing what it wants, i won't be under its pressure for a long time no more!
I decided to quit this game! I decided to quit its game!

As a lonely rejected woman who never got to experience joy and things most other women simply expect and take for granted, I can totally relate to what you say but also will add

- thank you for my narcissistic family who abused me and set me up for failure and low self esteem so I never had a chance like most people to play the game
- and thank you that I was born shorter, weaker and uglier than most women with a tremor to boot!

But I have to question if it is a "higher force" at work, as it sounds totally base and demonic to me...or is it just the world system that we live in? Would things have been different if I/ we had been born into a world were people weren't so judgemental, critical, controlling, manipulative and self centred? I don't know but I bet things would have been different for both of us.

It's impossible for most people to live in healthy way despite they may look healthy. No, it's not possible for most people living happily in a world like that,it's just they probably are stupid and they aren't noticing the joke, or they maybe are just rats. There are more rats than real human beings

Thank you for sharing your feelings. I agree with you when you speak about judgemental, critical, controlling, manipulative and self centred people. But i also believe in the possibility of a demonic force at work! It's just my idea and what i feel about it. I don't think this force is necessarily good and forgiving.

Imagine one of your biggest dreams coming true.
However, through magical genetic means the child is burdened with the exact same or even worse shit than you. You're responsible for them so you can't just give up at any moment. After 20 years, the child commits suicide.

Perception depends on the point of sitting. Maybe a higher power, a fucking flying spaghetti monster, out of pity spared you the extra fireworks. Who knows.

Alter all its good to quit whenever you want.

I don't believe in God at all... But I'm more inclined to believe in a higher-being that is indifferent and just ignored us than I am one who intentionally manipulates us just for entertainment by fuckery. I mean, that's a very human thing to do, so that is why you'd lean there... and I get it. But it takes away personal responsibility from people down here doing the bad hurtful shit, and I won't give anyone a pass on that because a higher-power "made me do it."

I think it works for fictional stories and can be quite entertaining... but I think the ultimate sad truth is that whether or not we were created by a high-being... we have a choice of being kind or being hurtful, and most people opt for hurtful especially when it benefits them to do so.

I believe there is a higher power of good, based on tons of near death experiences I've read about as well as some personal experiences and other stuff. I even believe humans and especially animals can tap into this power to some degree and just be endlessly loving, forgiving, understanding, supportive and so on. This power is most definitely not just in the form it's being imagined in religion, but it seems so natural to us that it somehow takes whatever shape we need it to. Like a spiritual well within us linked to something greater, a guiding being with no or any physical form, or even signs in our physical world.

However, humanity is actively suppressing its own spirituality by withdrawing from and forcing withdrawal from our natural needs, by creating a stress that's unnatural and not having access to a safe, calm, quiet place to rest, idealizing hyper individualism and rewarding selfishness instead of truly supporting each other. And then there's the never ending cycle of countless humans choosing evil over good and many who even take pleasure in committing unspeakable evil. Did I mention greed?

Humanity has basically created a way to gaslight itself into hopelessness and destruction while idealizing it.

There may be some great power of evil as well but if anyone is tapping into that, call it conspiracy theory if you wish, I bet it's among the 1% wealthiest and/or those with most power above the governments who has long planned this and are steering society as a whole to what it is just for their own benefit, while the more sensible option would always have been to build us all a paradise of peaceful coexistence or as far towards it as our primitive species could reach. The manipulation is being done through politics and mass media. When the people are divided into "sides", they're so busy fighting each other that they won't unite against the true oppressors. Mass media keeps brainwashing the people to idealize the failed system and not to question it. (Check who funds mass media as well as politics by the way)

Anyway, point is that I don't believe a higher being is forcing suffering upon us while enjoying it. Humanity keeps forcing that suffering upon itself. It's sad beyond any words. At least there are still good people and all the wonderful animals, although we're being so oppressed we often can't save ourselves and others wouldn't unless it pays them.

Bro could've set everything up however he wanted. (Going with Judeo-Christian God, omnipotent.)

He chooses:

you get 100 shitty years, worship me enough and we can be homies, but do anything I don't like and you get literal eternity of fire and punishment and teeth gnashing. By eternity, I mean those 100 years times 10000000000000 plus infinity of just straight suffering. Those are the only two outcomes. Also, the rules are so vague you won't even be able to agree on what they mean and what's allowed and what's needed to get into heaven.
Don't need to go much further imo.

God may exist and not be perfect.

'He' may have meant well, but things have simply got out of his control, and He weeps at His inability to stop the suffering that we endure in the universe that He originally created with good intentions.

Maybe God died, and His next in command are doing their best but are ultimately powerless to stop the pain and suffering. Maybe creating the universe was a well meaning experiment.

I used to keep fish. I set up an aquarium (fish tank). I took it seriously and I think I did it well. To the fish, I was their God; I created their universe.
Are they aware of me? Yes. Do they fully understand me and my motives? No. Am I perfect? No. Is their world perfect? No. Can they suffer? Yes. Do I know/care? Yes of course. Can I make it all perfect? No. Etc.
I was well meaning but in essence it was an experiment for my own gratification that i cannot fully control.
Maybe our universe is just like this.

I am agnostic. I believe that we cannot ever truly know the nature or reason for the existence of ourselves and our universe, and it's futile trying to do so. That includes all religious belief.

Juat my musings. Everyone is entitled to their own views of course and our differences are what makes us.

I enjoyed this book very much. it's not heavy at all, very readable, lighthearted and humorous.
It's a collection of short stories about what the afterlife and nature of a creationist God might be.

Why do you believe in there being a higher force? Unless there is solid evidence pointing to this being the case, which there isn't, then why bother believing in such a thing? A lot of your issues likely just come down to circumstance and, potentially, might even be self-inflicted to some degree (not all of them, of course). If you believe that your issues today are, in some part, caused by your past bad choices, then wouldn't that mean that you can learn from those choices and make ones that might benefit you? I feel like blaming everything on an entity that may or may not exist just ends up leading to you digging yourself a deeper hole.
