I was a big fan of Google back in the days. I was fairly naive tho, regarding privacy at least. I remember watching Youtube videos countless hours back in the days. I loved to have access to so many documentaries and quality content in general. After the official announcement of google having bought the video platform, things have become progressively worse. It was a slow process tho. Remember, this is just my personal opinion and the opinion of others will differ, but i have seen many posts on the internet of people complaining about the same issues. The Algorithm which decides on what people get to see on their yt home screens shows now mostly trending trash with high views, instead of 100% content which the user might be genuinely interested in. On top, most of the trending stuff which yt tries to push has no real content, just some clickbait. It seems like YouTube tries everything to get their users to watch more ads and nonsense content to generate more profit. I'm not interested to see what what most youtubers bought for 1.000.000 Dollars or what they bought from mcDonnalds, or <insert other brand>.. Google's search results also have changed, they no longer are detailed or give precise results.
There are quite a few people who think the same. On the official Google support
page, where people can post their issues, google tries to shut those people up by
deleting posts or locking the entire thread.
It's just a nonsense vent but It makes me sad to see my (once) favorite sites getting worse and worse
just for the sake of more revenue. Would love to get Your
thoughts on this. Do You also feel like they have changed or am i just to critical/picky?
