Sodium nitrite overdose is often described as unpleasant and distressing, not painless — medically, it causes a condition called methemoglobinemia, which reduces the blood's ability to carry oxygen.
Here's what typically happens:
  • Initial symptoms: headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and shortness of breath.
  • Physical distress: the skin and lips turn bluish (cyanosis) because the body's tissues aren't getting enough oxygen.
  • Progression: breathing difficulty worsens, confusion, weakness, and eventually loss of consciousness if untreated.
  • Death occurs due to lack of oxygen, which can be distressing and uncomfortable.
While some anecdotal reports suggest unconsciousness can come relatively quickly (leading some to call it "painless"), the period before losing consciousness can involve significant discomfort and panic from struggling to breathe.
If untreated, it can be a frightening and painful way to die.

No but the feeling of suffocation really worries me . Your body stops being able to carry oxygen on a celular level . Hopefully its very brief before loss of consciousness

As somebody who overdosed twice with different stuff, I'm sure other stuff could lead to unconciousness as well. Of course it's not easy to tell of other potencial complications. I'm considering to take some random drugs before SN to lose conciousness, although that's a gamble.

As a side note, I wouldn't trust AI in this case.

thats why its advised to use benzo's to relieve the pain from SN and anti-emetics to stop puking and to ingest the SN quicker. I dont think there was any report on someone still being conscious till the moment that suffocation happends, there is quite a bit gap between the moment u are unconscious and when death occurs. I dont recommend on using any AI as a information about SN
