I turned 61 this year. It's hard for me to even think about being that old. Your perception of time changes as you get older. Time starts to fly by. Like, there's only one week left of October? It will be 2025 soon. And your body starts having pieces fall off. Those are the two really bad parts of getting older.

It's crazy because of how that works, and it's all simple perception. 1 year of your life when you're 20 is 5% of your life. 1 year for a 10 year old is 10% of their life. 1 year of your life when you're 50 is 2% of your life. The percentage just goes down and down as you age, making time go by faster. Or at least, that's the way I've always interpreted it.

Also it's insane to me that it's almost 2025, feels like 2024 just started

It's pretty easy to look up statistics and see that the opposite is true: the chance of suicide increases with age. From the CDC website:

People who actually post here and remain around to keep posting seem younger. Probably not that many 80 year olds spend their days on internet forums

Thanks for the statistical input. It is informative. I would not have expected this reality.

I would imagine that this statistic may be different if sanctioned suicide was available to any rational adult who decided they wanted to Catch the Bus early.
