The world is a crossroads. If everyone could be fine and go to heaven, why have a world?

The idea of a god who created and put me to the test without my approval is bullshit. Also, knowing that some of the helpless creatures he created will go to hell, a god who started this game must be a sadistic asshole. Forget believing in a god who sacrifices others to honor and reward some people, I'd spit in his face if I saw him in front of me. Whatever the crime, I would spit in the face of anyone who wants to have fun in heaven while someone is being tortured in hell.

Not so strange. Reality isn't a democracy. At any given point, there's someone or something, visible or not, that has more power over you than you yourself do. You never get a say.

Spirituality is what you make of it. No one can claim to be right or wrong because we don't understand the true nature of reality at all.

In the vedantic view, you are God, along with everything else in the world. There is no separation and the world is just God exploring his own mind and nature. So to hate God would be to hate yourself. So that's another way of looking at it.

Feel free to find a spiritual path that helps you the most though.

Yes there is pain and suffering and cruelty. In order to experience itself the infinite has to become finite and forget it's true nature and lose itself in the world it manifests. This can is why we feel happy when we are close to others and why we feel pain when we hurt each other. Through the illusion of free will God has manifested himself in all things from Hitler to you to me to aliens on other planets to the very fabric of the universe.

That's my belief anyway.

It's not wisdom. It's a Buddhist belief system and I'm not forcing anyone else to accept it as fact. Spirituality is a personal choice.

If you want you could try to read a bit more about Advaita Vedanta because there is a lot in there that deals with the problem of suffering in a nondual view of the world. It's a lot more than I could easily impart in a forum post.

Suffice to say that to observe that there is the illusion of separation and individual suffering isn't to excuse or belittle the magnitude of that pain which is felt. It doesn't make it any less real from the illusory perspective of the separate self.
