It's impossible to be certain from a photograph, but in the photo I was referring to those look like insulating posts, and the orange-coloured wire looks to me like one kind of wire sometimes used with electric fences (the kind with thin strands of metal wrapped aroung a plastic core). I maintain a long electric fence on my own property, so I do have some experience with them. I might be mistaken, but it's something to bear in mind if you are thinking of going there.

Take your time and think this through. If you're not 100% sure, then don't jump. Beachy Head isn't going to go away, and will still be there for you in the future if you need it.
If you do decide to jump, I hope all goes well for you.

Walk of Shame from Beachy Head at 9pm because there are four parked police cars and I refuse to be interrupted mid run and jump and hospitalised.

Honestly I'm going to go watch the sunset tomorrow rethink if I'll jump then and recuperate if I don't. All it takes is one jump and I can come back anytime. Any. Time. I'll plan this better next time.

Who knew Easter Monday would bring many police cars to Beachy Head??

It's been a depressing day but a bit fun at the same time I did enjoy the hike a little.
If I'm alive and anyone wants to double triple quadruple up with me please I am so desperate. All I need is a two weeks worth notice TT and meticulous planning. I think this trip gave me a lot of insight into the town and what to do tomorrow (most probably) next time.

I am now doing my morning sunset hike, before just chilling and going down to the station and heading home.

I think I learnt a lot on this trip both about myself and the area. I'll just come back next time.

For now I'll just dump some pictures here until the end of my trip.

The dark photo is of the stars! I don't see stars in London so it was nice to go out and see them.

The rest are from today and are of the moment photos (literally taken 5 minutes before this thread comment was written!)

0621. Also forgot to mention there are no police or coastguard cars. No patrols and no people. One person around 30 minutes in distance behind me.

The occasional motor vehicle travelling by.

The doubtful thoughts come running back in walking to the cliff spot with the hardest landing.

I've looked over the edge. It doesn't look that bad. Nobody is here. I should be free. I should be. I'm overthinking this.

Parachute person. Hovered above me while I was at the cliff edge. They're still flying all the way near Seven Sisters now. Sounded like a helicopter but doesn't look like one.

Really scared of jumping and surviving. The cliff is very unstable. Thinking what if I jump and survive. Ill

I can't do it I can't jump. I sat on the edge legs dangling. I stood up and stood on the edge and when I went to get closer I lost footing and nearly had a heart attack.

I can't do it. What if I don't die and I survive? I can't. I can't do it I am so sorry to myself but I can't. I need to try hanging again. I can't jump off. I tried and I scrambled to get to more stable footing. I can't.

I'm so sorry you could not do what you wanted to do. It seems like after the rescue squads disappeared you had a lot more privacy. I wonder if you brought a backpack with some liquor, you could sit and drink alone until you were able to overcome your instincts.

Thank you. I reckon that I just need to get rid of the things holding me back, and definitely pack some alcohol next time, or something drowsy!. Or both.

I'll just live for now. Like another reply said the cliff is not going anywhere (apart from receding slowly) and i'll have other opportunities.

Yeah, it just didn't look high enough when I went and peaked over the edges more clearly. Very scary thought to jump and just be damaged down there waiting for help or waiting to die

where is this? scenery looks beautiful if i was there to ctb i'd be so fucking fascinated instead by the view it would be enough to give me hope to keep going i'm really weak when it comes to nature

It's over 500 feet (at the highest point).
Incidentally, there are much higher sea cliffs in Britain. (The highest one I know of is over 1100 feet.) The reason Beachy Head is so popular for ctb is that it's easy to get to from London.
