  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Everyone here at home left and that's why I wanted to try partial. I just tried partial and my vision darkened in less than 4 seconds. If I had held it for another 5 seconds you wouldn't be here reading this post. I used a thin string (1/3 of my little finger) and strong. I made two slipknots on each end of the rope and placed one end on the hook of the net and the other on my neck, under my Adam's apple (2 fingers) as I stood up. So I leaned my body forward a little and boom: my vision started to darken, my ears to howl and my head went crazy. I'm a little dizzy, but I'm getting better. IT DOESN'T HURT AND IT WAS NOT UNCOMFORTABLE. I'm so glad I made sure to go now.

I was standing and leaning my body forward with the rope around my neck. I think it is now clearer. English is not my main language. Sorry.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's good to know that partial doesn't hurt. I guess it makes me feel a bit better about hanging even know I still fear the method as I am scared of it going wrong in some way. Best wishes.

There is something that made my stomach turn while reading this :/

Congratulations on being patient with yourself and with this method.
It's always upsetting to see when people won't be here much longer, but at the same time comforting to know that thanks to the forum they have all the resources to make this huge event as peaceful and painless as possible.

I hope I see you soon :)

I think many people use a thick string to make it feel more comfortable, but it also reduces the pressure. Maybe a thin string is the key. But a thin string may break easily. What is the material or type of string?

Maybe I was doing it wrong. I was dropping down into it instead of leaning forward.

I hope you can find peace somehow. Partial does work some of the time, but it fails so much of the time. One example from this site- a former prison guard posted that he saw several prisoners who successfully ctbd by partial when he was a guard. they all used basically the same body position, rope, knot, head position, etc. He tried to copy this and even though he passed out, he woke up standing up later. This guard tried this twenty-five times and could not get this to work. A couple of really famous celebrities did ctb using this method- Robin Williams and Kate Spade. However, a couple of other people posted here that they tried 15 times each and couldn't get it to work. Many others have posted here that they passed out during at attempt but then woke up standing up- it is clear your body will stand up at least some of the times during this method even after you pass out to try to save your life. There is no clear explanation for why so many attempts fail but some succeed that I can find. Some people peculate about know position, rope type, body position- but that prison guard duplicated all of these things from people who did ctb and still couldn't get it to work. Why this method fails so much but still succeeds sometimes is still not clear yet.
