  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

They (religious people, pro-lifers, and people who are anti-suicide) feel the need to impose their will, their values, and their morals/ethics onto those who are different than them and use bullshit statements to justify them. They feel as though they are some 'hero' or someone who is above their own rules or the rules of the universe. I hate people who do that, they disgust me. One of the statements I've heard just really infuriates me, coming from a devout believer is "my religion (Christianity) says that life is sacred and good and that so I must impose life onto everyone". Like bullshit, who gives that person the right to ignore governmental laws, human rights, and what not and just declare him/herself sovereign to impose his/her will onto others?!

I am a strong believer of separation of church and state (@Threads would agree with me), which means the church, religion and it's values have no place in politics, policy making, or in other people's life (except for the people who want to live by those standards). Sure if the religious people want to believe and live their lives according to their religion or their values and morality, then that's fine, but don't fucking impose your goddamn will and morality onto others that don't share the same values as you! Live your own fucking lives, but don't forcibly try to change everyone to fit your lifestyle!

So with that said...

All they (those religious pro-lifers and pro-lifers in general) have to do is just respect our rights. Why is it so hard for them to do so?! Why must they put themselves above us and the people who don't share their views and act as though they are the arbiter, the judge, play God, or any of this? This is something that I just don't get... I feel like they just elevate themselves to flaunt their moral superiority and just want to rule over those who don't agree or share their views.

I'm not sure how to respond to this and say what I'm thinking but I share the same opinion. They should just leave us alone. Its our life, it should be our choice, not theirs.

Realize they're mentally ill... just a cult so big it came dominate a society. Each generation indoctrinated by the last. They're nothing.

Yeah I think they're the ones who are mentally ill instead of us. In fact, most people on here have arrived at the conclusion of a rational suicide and that death can be a solution to problems or things that have no solution or answer to. I think the majority of the world is actually mentally ill and they just refuse to acknowledge it.

Not only they are mentally ill, they are stupid (religiosity is negatively correlated with IQ and analytical thinking).

I think most people (not everyone who is religious of course) who I come in contact with IRL tend to either be intellectually dishonest, cherry pick points and arguments (leaving out whatever is inconvenient to their argument and only applying what fits their argument, regardless of whether it is consistent or logical), or don't even bother to look at their 'faulty' reasoning. Then of course, you have the people who do know reasoning, but will staunchly defend their position and even try to twist things, misrepresent things just to fit what they believe through confirmation bias and other logical flaws. Some people, when they don't have anything else intelligent to add, they will resort to ad hominem (attack of character) and red herrings tactics to try to divert and deflect the actual point.

It is unconstitutional in the US for laws to be made in favor of religious beliefs. There can be no religious freedom in that case. Because different religions may have different beliefs about something. Some religions might consider suicide an honor to their God. Or other religions might consider life and death to be a personal choice.

That's true, but I do wonder then, why hasn't some of the unconstitutional laws founded on religion been struck down yet? Is the SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) backlogged with other cases that haven't reached a verdict yet? Also, I think that given we are in the 21st century, people should do something about these unconstitutional laws and issues in society, yet that isn't the case.
