So where's the bus stop?

I've been trying to put together my method (Exit Nitrogen Bag) for a while now. I've gotten the tank, it's just the regulator I've been struggling with. The last one I got was a cheap one and it was leaking in a spot I couldn't put teflon tape on. So that was a flop. I had to find a new one and it costs significantly more than the other one. On top of that I had to find the outlet connection's fitting, which was difficult.

Now that I've found the regulator and the outlet connection, I have to wait until the regulator comes and test it to see if it leaks, and this is what I'm nervous about. If it leaks then there's nothing I can do, and I might as well give up if that's the case. I'm really hoping it doesn't leak at all and everything goes well.

wishing you the best. I absolutely recognize that this method is more technical than others and the frustration that likely comes with it.

we're here for you if you need to vent etc 🤍🌹🫂

Thank you! I appreciate that. And Yea it's super technical. It's going to be worth it when it's all set up though.

Did your new regulator arrive and did it test okay for leaks? There are so many variables with this method that I think it's worth spending money on the right equipment so that everything works as it should. This is especially true for the regulator, considering that this is needed to control the flow of gas at the right volume

My new regulator did arrive, and it's much better quality! I tested it for leaks at first, and it leaked, it's only when I tightened it more with the wrench and redid the seal, did it work and not leak at all! None of the adjacent connections are leaking either which is really good. I bought a rubber tube that's normally used as a fuel line but I'm using it for my hose. I think it's good but I'm worried it's a little heavy for my exit bag.

I had also been considering an inert gas hose, with the intention that it would remove the requirement to have an adaptor connection that had to be clamped. My logic being that fewer connectors / adaptors in the set-up, the less the chances of a leak but I realised that the industrial hoses are heavy and seems to want to detach from the inside of the bag. Adding more tape didn't help, as when the bag is placed on the head and scrunched down before filling with gas, the hose doesn't want to compress so makes emptying the bag of air difficult. End result is I'm going with a clear pvc hose and an adaptor to connect it to the regulator
