  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

I think my brain is more energy efficient to most maybe all AI.

Now a more serious answer. I am currently writing on an essay for college. I don't know much about the author, topic of the article. There are many technical terms. The article is very long. I don't know marxist theory well enough. I don't know anything about Greek mythology.

I could guess where there are some weaknesses of this text. But mostly I agree with it. I am certainly not smarter than this German intellectual. In the past when the book was published I started a Youtube video but when I realized the main thing is a metaphor with Greek mythology I said. Well not interested. I asked chatGPT and Grok AI for a summary of the text. (Grok's summary was way better) Then I actually read the text.

I started to read newspaper articles about the book. I used AI to circumvent the paywall of an article actually I don't know how it did that. I tried to circumvent the paywall with different methods and it did not work. It gave me the summary of an article of one of the most leftwing newspapers in Germany. There were some good points and I will go with that.

I started to write the text with the help of my AI summary and internet articles criticizing the book and author.

However, I don't think I am smarter than AI. They say AI is currently as good as an undergraduate student. I think there are some idiosyncracies in the language AI uses. This is why one should not copy the style of it.

All in all I am an academic fraud. I am a real imposter. Not because I use AI. Maybe also because of that. But most of it are my formulations and I research most of it. And I will double check many facts as good as I can.

In the seminars I act like I was super smart and super educated. Which is really embarrassing. I think it is because of autism and bullying, traumata yada yada. Basically the same thing I do in this forum only even worse. I can trick some peers. Sometimes I can even trick professors. (only seldomly though). But mostly it is all fake. It feels shallow. I have imposter syndrom and I am actually an imposter.

I think I am deeper than AI. But I think I cannot write better texts sadly.

So today I worked the whole time on my article. I tried to use own formulations and was very careful. I still don't have a good own criticism of this text. After my work was done, I thought the pain was over and I considered to use an AI detector. The results were mixed. There were detectors that said 99% was writen by AI. Whereas other detectors said that 99% was writen by human. But I think the best detectors said 3/4 were writen with the help of AI.

Now obviously because I am a nervous wreck I cannot say let's gamble. (Someone in my self-help group once wrote her bachelor thesis with the help of AI.) I will have to re-write the whole thing. I don't know how though. It considered parts AI were I actually used newspaper articles as a form of inspiration.

The professor even said there is no 100% certainty for AI detectors and I think he would not be that mean. But I have a guilty conscience, it is against my honor and I really anxious about it. I am so stupid.

I'm a better than average handgun shooter. Not too shabby at long-distance rifle shooting either, if I do say so myself. Does AI shoot, or are they a raging lunatic that thinks guns run around shooting people all by themselves??

I can eat quite a lot in a short amount of time. Can an AI do that? I didn't think so!

Even if I sometimes hate what I draw, at least a human hand made it and not something that stole art from others

So today I worked 5 hours on it. I thought again the pain was over. I reformulated many passages. The quality is low when I consider how much time I spent on it. Most AI detectors now say it is fully writen by a human. New issue. I noticed my criticism is mostly based on an empirical mistake the author did but I think the lecturer wants a normative-philosophical argument. I might have to re-do it again. But not tomorrow. Tomorrow I have a date at 6 p.m. I am anxious and nervous.
