Discussion Intrusive thoughts

Alright this is kind of a vent but I noticed that intrusive thoughts in general just aren't as taken seriously as they really should, especially in surprise, surprise… the medical system itself. They really think that pumping you with pills is the only thing that will help, when in reality they kind of don't. Most people I've talked to think that you can just..shut off intrusive thoughts, yeah they're just like normal thoughts but a little worse. It's more than that though. They've literally destroyed my life and a lot of others lives. They make you think you're this awful, disgusting person and they even seep into your nightmares sometimes, which for me, never goes away, no matter how many pills I take. Intrusive thoughts quite literally can make you want to go numb just to escape, just to get away from it all. I'd give anything just to get rid of these disgusting thoughts from my head. They're just not taken seriously enough…
