No one's going to tell you to run in front of a train. Go for a walk and pick up some litter.

Go to the gym. It's something that keeps me sane.
Try to get a 24hour one. Then, when you're having a sleepless night, go to the gym.

Or just go every few days.

Or go for runs every morning.

Don't let people tell you what to do. Do this now.
This. A bazillion times THIS!!

BUT ... Since you are letting me boss you around do this:

Sit with yourself and just let your mind focus on the clouds in the sky. Or the little bug flitting around in the grass. Or the bird sitting on the fence looking at you like you have lost your mind.

Do this every morning and every evening for at least 15 minutes. Bonus points if you take your shoes and socks off and put the soles of your feet in firm (but not hard, don't have to push down) contact with the grass and soil.

You will eventually "see" things you need to do for your soul. It won't make sense to your "logical" mind. In fact, you will probably think you are losing it completely. I will NEVER forget the first time I actually had "that" thought -- lol -- I was SO sure something profound was gonna come to me. Nope. I was minding my own business, watching the chickens gather themselves up and go inside for the evening (believe it or not chickens are actually VERY orderly creatures), and I thought "Dammit!! You NEED to get some housework done before you go to bed! That living room is a disaster. What if someone comes over?" 🤨😳🙄🤬🤬 First of all, it wasn't THAT bad -- probably needed vacuuming -- but other than that it was fine! Second of all, I don't have any friends! 🙄🙄 Nobody's gonna come knocking on my door. 🤣🤣

But guess who went and picked up, dusted and vacuumed before she went to bed. 🤦🏻🙋🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻

Buy a coffee and a pastry you like to go with it at a cafe. Buy the nice expensive kind, not just plain black coffee.

building off this. cookies or cake is what i would usually want to get at a cafe/bakery. affogato (espresso and vanilla ice cream) is also really good!

Run a few laps around something until you want to go home, just for fun. Fresh air helps slightly to stay sane too....

If there is one in your area, volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter.
Pick an author (Agatha Christie, Tom Clancy, someone with lots of published works) and read all that they have written.

Get something to write with and some paper, preferably some kind of notebook or journal with lines. You can also use your phone notepad but I find it helps more to have a physical Thing I can hold in my hands for this, it makes it feel more real. Maybe that's just me.

Write a list of things you like. It doesn't matter what it is, how stupid you think it is to like it, how abstract it is - any judgements you have about it are moot. It can be as simple as "blue" or as specific as "episode 5 season 6 of my favorite show paused at 15:10". You like it, you write it.

Expand this list every single time you think of something new. It's okay to write the same thing twice on accident. Just keep expanding the list. This works best with a lined notebook because you can ideally write one thing per line and fill the book overtime. Feels like making progress.

Here's the most important part; every time you feel like shit and can't think of anything good, you can look in the notebook and remind yourself that sometimes things aren't shit. Sometimes you have a funny moment from a show. Sometimes you have a cool game that sticks with you. There's things you like, and they exist no matter how you feel. Just because you can't remember the joy it gave you doesn't mean it never existed, and the list is proof that it made you feel something good. Maybe it won't make you feel immediately better, or even happy, but you'll remember that it's possible to feel that way again.

This is one of the things that got me through my worst years. Hoping it's of some help. If not, at least you have something to do.

One of my secret self-healing spells is listening to music. All kinds of it - depending on the mood.
Another thing that cheers me up a little is watching Risitas, Peito and Tito de Triana videos on YouTube (they were, for some time, top-class TV star comedians in Spain).

So, first task, dear friend - watch this video:

Second task: two songs that help me see that life can be simple, humble and still beautiful and worth living. Drinking a coffee, having a simple and delicious meal, breathing, watching others laugh - laughing with them. Dancing - just because I feel like it. No need for a reason. Forgetting all the social pressure - laughing at its face.

The power of "I don't care. I will just live. I will try to be happily unhappy, joyfully sad..."

We've been terribly misled to think that our lives are only worth living if we achieve, if we get to that level society considers to be "success". That's bullsh*t. We don't need to earn our dignity and self-respect. We are born with it.

Here comes one that's good for dancing and not giving a f*:

If all these 3 videos don't dispel some of the dark clouds above your head, maybe this will help:
