KN/Potassium Nitrite

I've pretty much accepted that I can't get my hands on SN without a very hefty price. I'm thinking about buying potassium nitrite instead from a reference found in the PPeH. As far as I've researched, there's far less info and effectiveness on KN, but I'm pretty sure it's the nitrite that gets the job done (?) If anybody has advice or info on the effectiveness of KN please let me know !!

I'm considering purchasing KN to potentially use to CTB in the relatively far-off future. But the particular product I'm looking at doesn't list its purity. I've also read two recent failed attempts on here by two different users, and idk whether that's coincidence or if it's much more prone to failure compared to SN.

The potassium in KN and sodium in SN have barely anything to do with what kills you from my understanding; it's the nitrite that does the job. The purity should be above >95%, same as SN. You would also need a slightly higher dosage of it as well. KN isn't documented as well as SN so there may be flaws in protocols. Some people have more difficulty accessing KN than SN in some regions, but I was able to find KN way faster than SN at a lower price than DMC.
Also the only thing that worries me is the overall taste of KN. I've read somewhere that it tastes worse than SN.
If I'm missing something or something I said was wrong, please let me know !!

Right, I saw other posts that said to use 31g of KN vs 25g SN. But it's much easier to find KN, so my next thought was to buy pink curing salt and try to filter out the SN with ethanol. But KN is more straightforward than that process and I would think less likely to contain impurities that would comprise success.

I found out the purity of the KN I was looking at is given as 95-102%, so I think it's the same product that one of the failed attempts on here used, because those are the same numbers they gave.

From what I'm seeing, some of the failed attempts can be attributed to flaws in protocols or health issues. Though it's also possible that KN isn't as effective as SN. There isn't as much info regarding how successful it is, but there have been people who successfully CTBd so I'm hoping I can do the same.

how much would SN cost for you? how much cheaper is KN?
