  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

The happiest and least lonely American women have traditional religious faith (i.e., conservative Christianity), live traditional gender roles, value marriage & family and are politically conservative. Think 1950s Eisenhower era Trad Wives.

The survey is done by the "The institute for family studies" which is a conservative group that promotes marriage and nuclear families.

In the same article they say that conservative women are "objectively" more attractive quoting another "study"

It was kinda funny, even if I regret giving them a view

Why are there so many divorces or, women not choosing to marry to begin with then- do you suppose?

'As of 2024, the U.S. divorce rate remains between 40% to 50% for first marriages, though this number has been steadily declining over the past few decades.'

from: https://www.modernfamilylaw.com

So presumably, the 50-60% who didn't get divorced are happy? Good for them, I guess. Presumably, that's why they haven't divorced! A 50-60% failure rate is bad though- wouldn't you say? I imagine also, the only reason it isn't higher is that fewer people are getting married to begin with!

Not that I'm against marriage. I used to have a very fairytale admiration for it. I don't think it's for everyone necessarily though. I don't believe it guarantees happiness either.

Maybe it's true. Who knows? Maybe more men and women would be happier here if they got married. My married friends seem reasonably happy. I don't think they regret their choice anyway. Not sure it's the same for everyone though. I definitely think you need to be fortunate in picking a good partner otherwise, you're opening up a whole lot of hurt I imagine. I also know plenty of marriages that have ended in tears and abuse.

Personally, of all the people I've liked enough for that, even if they'd liked me back to that extent (which they absolutely didn't,) I don't think any of the relationships would have lasted ultimately. So- I'm actually grateful I never got the chance to have my heart broken.

There are also plenty of members here who've at the worst- had abusive or hurtful or manipulative relationships. Some even seem to have very loving and supportive partners yet, they can't seem to 'save' them from wanting to kill themselves. So, how effective is it really for everyone? That said, if it's what you want, I hope you find someone and, I hope it works out for the both of you.

Erm... because marriage is nothing but an instrument of the patriarchal capitalist state that reduces women to articles of commerce and their children to instruments of labour?

Indoctrination, those who question it will actually be more depressed because they end up knowing that they have no say in anything and are basically a pseudo-slave

This seems like a malicious reduction of what modern marriage actually is.

No it doesn't. It is what it is: an objective socio-economic theory of why marriages fail, offered for the objective consideration of whosoever cares to consider it. Where exactly is the malice in it supposed to be then?

For a child, what's the difference between being born from a marriage or not? Why are they instruments of labour?
