• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Let me know what you guys think of this analogy... Do subscription services like Netflix, Disney, Spotify, Amazon etc show a more perfect form of love in it's contract with it's customers WHEN it allows them to cancel their subscription at any time with no answers demanded (they usually make that optional iirc) than Our families, friends, community, government and God does WHEN the aforementioned Beings keep us yoked to existence, keep us yoked to a slave contract we never signed up for and have (especially in the case of the biblical God who will give us a heavenly or hellish afterlife) left us with no escape clause......does this analogy fall flat on its face because Netflix, Disney, Spotify, Amazon etc are made up of real people that would call the authorities in a heartbeat to have you sectioned if they knew you were suicidal.... So should I instead say that our family, friends community, govt and God should recognise in their relationship with us similar terms to those subscription services..... I feel more warmth and love from subscription services THAN I do from the idea of a God that won't let me return to nothingness or my friends that aren't around enough (whilst new comforting content is Always there for me on subscription services) or my family that wants to section me....thoughts?

Definitely. I see life as a corrupt subscription service that our parents signed us up for. Probably not fully considering what would happen if we didn't like the content on offer. That their genes, geographic location and financial situation would govern what we had access to. That the cost would increase exponentially. That we may feel obliged to try to afford their subscription cost as well as our own later in life. And that- as you pointed out- the get-out clauses placed on us by them and everyone else are utterly unreasonable. Life is a conscripted subsciption service with (debatably) very poor terms of use in my view.

I think this is 99% of the cause of our misery. It seems like most of history is just piss-poor peasants, seemingly possessed by demons, working to make the rich richer and (working) to put more power in the hands of the already powerful, and when the offspring of these piss-poor peasants have a slightly more elevated level of consciousness which results in them being miserable (self awareness seems to bring misery, so does the mere act of thinking) the poxy piss-poor peasant parents are bewildered that their young'uns don't want to spend 60+ years on this earth rolling around in piss, shit and other filth or (the young'uns don't wanna) procreate to keep tradition alive.

Or maybe most of my generation's (under 30) problem is just the exponential cost that you alluded to, Mind can't cope with the Material roadblock we've come to at this time in history.

And finally I do get what you mean by conscripted subscription but I don't see life like that at all, I see life as being so bad that artificial gimmicks like the subscription services I mentioned are actually something good, a breath of fresh air in comparison to the slavery and drudgery that is life. But these subscription services, being good, in no way reflect how life actually is and that's why I fantasised how amazing (perhaps even a quintessential form of Love) it would be to break the bonds of life as easily as to unsubscribe from Netflix. So when you see life like a (conscripted) subscription service I feel you are insulting the majesty of what are really just fun forms of escapism that one should never spend more than the minority of their waking hours on (netflix, Spotify etc). Thanks for the reply, I had signed in today thinking I was going to have to reply to my own thread with "how sad" or something to that effect after no one else replied lol.
