  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Is anyone here versed in Massachusetts gun law in the US? Specifically under what circumstances mental health bars you from owning a gun. It mentions involuntary hospitalization. But says nothing by of voluntary stays.

I just want to know if I have any chance at all of accessing this method. I am also asking in terms of self defense, but that is a secondary motivation.

they might allow you to buy one if your history of mental health issues aren't severe and it has been a long time since that happened (5-10 years). Sometimes fire fighters and cops get hired with a mental health history but it has been like years since that happened to them and they get checked by a psychiatrist before hand so I assume that's kind of the same thing with buying Guns.

And you can always 3d print a gun of yourself. It is illegal in most states to do so but it is legal in some states for personal use like in Texas. Of course it isn't hard to 3d print one in private without the state knowing about it.

Bullets are easy to get in most states without a license. But some do require it so that's that. Im not sure if you can make a bullet at home by just buying the casing and so on. This is an expensive process though. Buying a gun would be cheaper.

I believe some states still sell to non-residents. So if it's state law that restricts you, perhaps a road trip to another?

Thanks for providing that. I'm definitely not eligible for my guaranteed, absolute, inalienable constitutional right. Gotta love the hypocrisy.
Yeah, you guys have it pretty tough in Ma. It's certainly not the worst state in the country (probably Ca, maybe Ny), but you're right up there. And as if the draconian laws on the books weren't already enough there, your lawmakers and governor felt they needed to implement further restrictions on law-abiding citizens with their latest/greatest law, Chapter 135, that just went into effect. It's being contested in the courts, and there will be a referendum on it, but not until 2026. I'd bet most of those elected officials keep guns in their homes for protection, and some even probably carry. Yeah, that is hypocrisy.
