life as hunter/gatherers was brutal. half of us wouldn't even be alive at our ages... over half if you factor in the attrition rate of babies back then...

It would be so tragic if we died at a young age. Not sure how I would cope with something that tragic.

Life isn't pointless, the way we live life is pointless

Regardless of what we do it's pointless. In the end it all boils down to how you're willing to label the emotions you have experienced as"valuable", but it doesn't add any "meaning points" to existence, speaking in absolute terms.

I'd be fine with dying young if it were a peaceful way. But most deaths in nature are horrific.

Life isn't pointless, the way we live life is pointless. Some days I think we never should have invented agriculture.
Suicide would be WAY more difficult if "we" (our ancestors) had never invented agriculture

I've been lurking on suicide watch lately and noticed some change, that a lot more people are openly talking about wanting to die, and what's more, even the comment sections are slowly being filled up with pro suicide people who feel the same - and all of that is on a reddit that should be doing the very opposite. I mean, a year ago or so I've only seen people commenting there how the OP should not do it and such, but now it's taking a different turn.

It feels to me like Humanity is kind of evolving and more and more people wish to die, I don't have any data to back this up, it's purely my feeling, but I believe that suicide rates are slowly rising in the world. Perhaps people are finally starting to acknowledge how pointless life really is?

Any thoughts on this?
Only the worst will stay, there's a lot of powerful evil people globally making it harder for a lot of us to exist.

Ai is rapidly improving, our water supply is being poisoned, global warming, mass animal deaths, humans are messed up beings and im not surprised more of us want to die. Id rather die now than live to be nuked or something
