  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

i know i shouldve gotten him out of my room but then my mother would've went and put him back, opening my door and stopping my attempt. i made a noose with a tie and hooked it on my door handle and put my neck in it. i put it as thight as possible around my neck then let go. i probably did it wrong because after a minute i still hadnt passed out, my dog came to me and cuddle up to me, hes a very small dog so his entire body ffits on me. i dont know why but something snapped, i need to live for him. i dont know wether i hospitalize myself or just try to keep myself alive. my therapist thinks im stable enough and doesnt need her anymore, i wish i could tell her.

Aww. I don't have pets anymore. But if I did I think I'd try to stick around. Maybe talk to your therapist?

Failed attempts are painful and dogs are very sensitive when sth is going wrong, they can feel that. I would't tell the therapist anything about the CTB attempt. I wish you a fast recovery and all the best!

Based on my experience, i'd say the best is to talk to your therapist instead of keeping everything to yourself because pets definitively give a purpose to stay alive but it does not make all the suicidal thoughts disappear for good neither heal your mental state. You might have breakdowns again to the point that your suffering can take over the love for your dog. Therapist just make statements based on what they know or at least what they think they know, and i assume nobody tells everything to their therapists. Just tell her what's going on, if she's a professional she will obviously help you

Pets are, first and foremost, a responsability.
You probably realized it at the moment, even if it was not consciously.
Dogs are best eople, they like you for who you are and being separated from you whurt them real bad...it's basically depression for them too.
I'd say, that if you can, rehome the dog in a loving family, check from time to time if it adapt well, before thinking about leaving yourself. You owe the dog that.

As for the therapist, only you know your circumstances so i can't help.
All the best.

this was such a humbling story to read - im glad that you have a reason to keep going <3

if you decide to continue with your therapist, i would avoid telling her about your attempt in case they want to hospitalise you.

wishing you the best :)

I am not sure if I would tell the therapist because you never know what they would do. If you feel you can trust him/her then go ahead.
Imo it is good that you have decided to stay for your dog. I wish you good luck with your recovery. Take care!

There are ways you can open up to your therapist and get help without being hospitalized, unless you think you may benefit from being hospitalized, in which case just tell her everything that happened. However if you don't want to be hospitalized, tell her in your next session that you have been struggling more lately. Tell her whatever depressed feelings you have, and gently hint that you have had some thoughts of suicide but emphasize that you don't have a plan or intent. This will open up for her to be able to help you without her putting you in the hospital.

I'm sorry that you had this experience. The love of pets is truly so strong. I wish the best for you.
