  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Recently I was reading about the concept of 'psychogenic death', also called GUI (give-up-itis) in some articles. Essentially the phenomena of people losing the will to live to such an extent that their bodies shut down.
What do you think about this? Personally I feel like if it were real I would've gone a loooong time ago, but I'm curious to hear other people's opinions on the topic!

I heard elders probably die faster once their loved one is gone.

I've looked into this and most cases of psychogenic death seem to happen when one of a couple that's been together for decades dies and the other follows soon after. I believe there's a shock element at play. Millions of people are crippled by depression don't die suddenly though.

It also makes a sort of sense to me and I've also known in long-term marriages/ partnerships that one will quite often die shortly after the other. Still- it may also be because they are older, maybe already suffering with health issues themselves. Maybe they start taking less care of themselves or are less resilent to shock and change.

I've wondered if a person truly could just lose their will to live and die but then, that thought's annoyed me because I've failed at achieving it!
