  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Is sending a scheduled email to the police department that contains information, ie., address, directions to my body, personal information and then stating I have committed suicide by hanging enough to give them probable cause to enter? No one else will be home for at least a week, I want to make sure my family won't be the ones to find me. But because the house isn't under my name, nor will anyone be able to answer the door, Im worried they won't enter. I plan on leaving the door unlocked with a note on it, in hopes that will help the likelihood they enter. Does anyone know if an email with the information I said, would be enough for them to enter without any kind of warrant or permission from the homeowner?

If they are confident you live there and that the email is credible they will kick the door in and rush for a wellness check on you. Where I live at least. There are so many states with different laws / police training it might vary a little bit. So it's hard to say 100%.

I sure hope so. That's pretty much what I have to do, except I'll be sending a snail mail letter. There isn't anyone else to find me. I mean, eventually, my mail will start to overflow in the box, but that might take a while, and I'd rather not rely on the mail delivery person to notify authorities. Like you, I'll tell the police in the letter what I've done, how to enter, that kind of thing. I'm sure they'll be "cautious" since they really don't know if they're being "set-up" for an ambush, or something, but I think it will all work out. I believe they are legally obligated to investigate something like this. Place a key somewhere and tell them where it is.

You know I was confident hanging would work and it didn't. Sent a goodbye email to only friend who accused me of attention seeking and being dramatic when of course I'm alive later. Be careful, they will kick down that door if you don't answer and 5150 you and your life will get a lot worse. I don't really have a good solution… im a terrible person. My landlord has held "wellness checks" over my head bc I blocked her number, sick of hearing about "you didn't recycle this can" or "your car needs to be washed" when I have bigger worries. I need a break from her, she is neurotic. Obviously I'm alive… watching tv, she can hear me talk on phone and I go to McDonald's like 3x a day (not really but she sees my car gone). I'm fine with letting her deal with the trauma of finding me. She made my life a living hell. She is so concerned about property values, I bet this will really eff up her day. I was an EMT I have seen so many dead bodies and horrible things it just kind of blends together for me.
