  • Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Depression is often the healthy response to overwhelming circumstances. I was depressed often as a teen and really it was just because things were not going well and I was socially isolated etc. It is a hibernation of sorts to wait for better times or maybe to just wash the slate clean, but in our modern world it seems those times don't often come. Raven is a character that lives in that dark tunnel and thus exhibits depression. Perhaps it is the most palatable representation of it which is why so many connect with the character.

The teen years are an interesting time. For some it is the peak of their lives where they soar in popularity and blossom.

Other such as those with Aspergers are so overwhelmed and may have developmental delays such that they withdraw in solitude and can compare themselves to others and feel depressed. Public education tends to promote a "one size fits all" philosophy that can leave some feeling that they don't measure up or are some kind of reject.

The cold mechanical processing of the Industrial educational complex can rob people of learning relational connections with others which is of far more value than achievement based valuation of sports or academics.

It can be helpful if hiding in a tunnel or cave to see what passes by not as a a uniform world in which one has no place, but rather a complex milieu where one might find others similarly ostracized.
