How can I call someone else's pain down? How can I know for sure that its serious and they aren't just playing it up?
For context:
The other day I was at work with my "husband" and he put the breaks on. He made a comment and laughed while I said "that was before" "what changed" "I have cptsd now" then he basically said it wasn't then bad. I have bpd so it took me a bit to be able to talk about it. When I finally got around to talking about it several hours later he ended up going on about how he a guy jumped out in front of him years ago so none of this is easy on him either. This is the first I'm hearing about this after about 5 accidents over 2-3 yrs (not his previous accident but that its bothering him) even though he's seemed perfectly fine, but I'm sure he was hiding it.
This is why I hate gaslighting! I hate it I hate I hate it!!! It forces me to shut up and take his side.
What's your thoughts? Is he gaslighting or serious?
