• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

The questions asked are to illustrate that @poof knows nothing about me and my practice. The questions might as well have been" do you know my name? or do you know how many open heart surgeries i have attended. All I am trying to say is labelling everyone in the medical field as being evil is frivolous, groundless and downright immature.

Doctor,

Poof is on a suicide forum. This already should speak volumes to you.

Your tone and dissemination of information is ridiculously insensitive, lacking in manners, and frankly stupid.

Get a grip.

My 2 cents: I think they should only if the person is a danger to the public or has no touch with reality (and thereby would be a danger to themselves or others)

And I agree with someone else talking about the illusion of voluntary admission, that once you stop cooperating they can detain you.

Years ago when I was voluntarily admitted, I changed my mind once I got on the unit saying that I had made a terrible mistake. They told me, "nope, you can check yourself in but you can't check out." Yeah, that was an eye-opener.

I am sorry you were hurt by psychology but it is not my fault. There is no need to attack me over it. I suggest you to get a grip. You don't have a monopoly over being sad or suicidal, why do you think I am here?

What did you expect then? Doctors can't just let a person die even if they are in a serious amount of suffering or they will lose their job. They can only follow the medical practices established by the government. Not all doctors are evil and side with big pharma. There are doctors and therapists that truly would care for you and do everything to help you or understand your perspective without calling the psych ward. Please stop trying to start childish fights.

I think POOF was saying we need to try to change the laws that govern the medical community? I don't know.

I was abused in the hands of a sadistic shrink.

One bad experience can cause one to loose trust, it's basic psychology—irrational perhaps but understandable.

Please, show some empathy towards OP. As a prior or current "surgeon" who took the Hippocratic oath FOR LIFE you are obliged to do no harm.

OP, POOF—hang in there. Not all doctors are evil. Also, note the ignore button.
You are a saviour Smilla. Where is the ignore button. Split the screen and tell me left/right up/down...sigh. Thank you so much...I be all right....thank you.

Again...thank you Smilla...

Click on the members name—it's on the upper right hand corner "ignore".

Don't let the monkeys get you down. And don't lose faith in all med professionals—as someone said they are ultimately doing their jobs under the current law. Hang in there. I hear you though.

As the above poster has said, multiple of you have ruined this thread so instead of handing out personal warnings, I'll just close the thread.

Is it so hard to show a little bit of respect when talking to each other...
