Method Slit wrists

Thinking of CTB methods, and was wondering if wrist cutting (through the vein) would be effective. I think its one of the most accessible methods for me, since im not really a jumper or anything else. Thank you

This method is often sought out by people who have seen it in movies or TV shows. It should not be considered a method, as it is only in these shows to play it up for the movies. With a success rate of ~1-4%, the odds are the opposite of in your favor. While they make it seem like you can take a razor blade to the wrist and peacefully slip into unconsciousness in the bathtub, in reality it is nothing like that. The human body is wired to not be able to harm itself in this way. In order to die from blood loss you would have to cut an artery. The arteries are meticulously located beneath several layer of muscle, tendons, and other tissues. They are not meant to be cut, especially not on purpose. Even with wonderful understanding of anatomy, such as healthcare workers, you would have a very, very poor chance of reaching them unless you were in a state of psychosis. If you attempted to, you would find yourself halfway there before realizing you mentally and physically cannot get yourself to go any further. Your mind will stop you without you having any control over it. Many people argue that if they get drunk or high beforehand they will be able to overcome it, however this would impair your ability to properly locate and cut to the arteries. The biggest risk with this method is permanent nerve damage to whatever area you attempt to cut. Depending on how deep you get before aborting, you may end up with severe scarring and potentially anemia or other blood loss related conditions."

Look it is one of the things I thought could work cause of hollywood. But in truth it is VERY HARD. Need a lot of determination and strength. Highly unlikely but sure slim chance. I would try one of the other methods....

Dont do it, it will not work. There are many people who tried it and failed. It has a success rate of 4%

Tried to cut veins many times and results to scars fue to m'y less of courage to endure pain

Cutting is one of the least successful methods out there. Cutting a vein will likely not kill you. For that to happen, you would need to cut an artery and your arteries are located under the muscle layer. Cutting is a method that requires a high pain tolerance, a good understanding of anatomy, sharp tools, and that you have a lot of psychological desensitization (a lot of people panic when they cut deeper than usual). Your chances of survival are high and it is more likely that you are just going to give yourself a permanent injury.

Not a good way to go and is listed in the pinned thread of "do not try methods". It is only even considered because of it's great theatrical effect in film and theater. I saw an image of someone who slit their wrist and I could see the fat and muscle layers and it disturbed me to the point of never doing that. Because if you live, you will have ruined the use of that hand and arm for life. And chances are your brain will make you immediately regret it and seek help.
