An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
I aree with you 100% on that one yellow.I dont want to be mean, but reading those "i hope you find peace" type of messages when somebody is in crisis makes me sad. And i dont mean that from a prolifers point of view. Somebody that has a breakdown, panic attack etc is in no valid state of mind to ctb. Impulsive stuff can scar people for the rest of their lives.
I'm sorry if my post sounded like that. I was unaware of what exactly had happened and a bit shocked when reading the post. I assumed that the process of CTB'ing had already started or finished, hence I wrote 'I hope you find peace'. I was not present when whatever happened in the chat took place, but I can only assume that something went wrong in the worst way imaginable.
I mean, some of the responses here can be quite cold. I saw a thread the other day where someone was clearly in emotional distress and people were just saying "I hope you find peace'", "safe travels".
I guess it's not anyone's responsibility but it would be nicer if people looked out for each other more often.
It's a difficult spot. When you come across one of these threads the person is about to do the act, or often has already comitted to it beyond the point of return. If they show emotional distress, what can you really do? Try to dissuade them through a tiny text box on a screen? Most likely you'll just make them remorseful and suffer more in their final moments.
If you see this, know that I've always appreciated your posts and your support and I'm available at any time either here or through WA should you wish to talk.
If you don't, then here's hoping you were successful and are now free of this fucking valley of tears where nothing comes out right.
