  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Your post had me straying to this article by Anthony Cuthbertson
Opponents of euthanasia have expressed concern at the creation of a "suicide machine", which has been developed by Dr Philip Nitschke.

The well-known advocate of individuals' right to die has regularly caused controversy by assisting what he calls "rational suicides".

Having developed machines in the past that could be used by individuals to inject themselves with lethal doses of barbiturates, Dr Nitschke says he is now close to finalising a new device which uses nitrogen gas to cause death.

If only those people had died by self-inflicted gunshot the way God intended.

National Review doesn't give a damn about suicide unless it can use it as an issue with which to bludgeon fuzzy-headed European "Liberalism."

Among other things he's also an advocate of "Intelligent Design."

I love how the author's voice is cartoonish and reeks of judgement, without any true substance.

It seems like an article that will make both anti-suicide and pro-choice even more angry/bewildered, for opposing reasons.

"If only half this much energy were put into suicide prevention."
Obviously this comes from a conservative magazine.
They spend waaaaaay more energy for suicide prevention than those companies do.
I'm sure the people who go to the clinics are counseled before they ultimately are given "Death Assistance"
This is one of the reasons I don't believe in "God's Helpers"

Concluding sentence of the article: "If only half this much energy were put into suicide prevention." Typical pro-life rhetoric. The fact is that much energy isn't put into suicide prevention. With few exceptions, no one is obliged to care about or for any other adult. Since people can suffer gravely because "personal responsibility," then also respect their autonomy to decide about whether they with to remain alive or not.
