it's super hot where I am right now, in New Jersey, but I don't think it's a good idea to try and let the heat kill me. If not successful, it could result in brain damage, with a much higher risk of failure AND brain damage than other actual ctb methods (such as opioids)

And even if I fall asleep, the chance of coma is much higher than in other methods too. I definitely do not want that.

It takes a minimum temperature of about 40 celsius for humans to start getting heat stroke. While you'll likely be very exhausted, and in agony, you probably won't be dying.

So just don't. Even if it was hot enough for heat stroke, it would be long and agonisingly painful.

From what I have expirienced, you will have a heatstroke long before you die is just generaly very unpleasent in several ways.
Also the temperature would probably have to stay above 40°C/104°F for quite some time, depending on ones health, for the bodily cooling mechanisms to break, at which point the heart would probably give out due to the stress.
Or that would be my guess at least.

I generally agree with the statement but you can get heat stroke below external temps of 104F/40C. The human body produces its own heat.

Physical activity, direct sunlight, and humid conditions can overwhelm the body's ability to cool itself and cause the internal temperature to increase even though external temperature is lower. Heat stroke and exhaustion generally can start occurring as low as the 70s F if someone has complications and normally begins in the 80s F for healthy people.

But still, highly unpleasant.

I probably could die if I just stay in my room with the fan off and my pc at full blast. The heat gets easily trapped since my room is made out of wood and I keep windows shut because I dont want bugs to sneak thru cracks.

If you stay in long enough you could be susceptible to CO2. Not pleasant, but it works. Keeping windows closed for several days and not leaving, have handcuffs ready. It took me a couple weeks to fill my 1br up. If I had stayed inside I'd been done with this place.

No I'll never do it that way. I actually hate the heat so much that I only plan to do it winter time. Cool, beautiful, and just chill. Not a lot of people outside winter time when it's heavily snowing.

Heat wave here in NY too. With humidity feels like 100-105 F. I'm thinking about taking a ton of prescription sleeping pills with alcohol then baking in my car. Would only need a few hours with no one noticing. Hoping it will make me unconscious enough to just not wake up and fry myself to death. I'm too much of a chicken shit to try it though as I fear it won't work. Today would have been perfect though. I wish I could just do it already. Ugh.

guys, I realized it's not worth it. Unless accidental. Or unless you literally have no other way. There are a lot easier ways to do it, don't feel bad if you don't let this heat kill you.

It was over 104° today. And the humidity makes the current temperature in New Jersey much worse. Heat stroke is very possible right now, especially if medicated.

And the most important thing, even if you don't care about the painfulness of dying from heat stroke – the chance of you not dying with brain damage/coma is still very high. It's not worth it, there are plenty of other ways to ctb.
for those who are saying their chickenshit – don't stress. You're not. If you're stressing about a way to die, it means your instincts are telling you it won't work well.
Plus, it's not super possible for me right now as chance of revival by trying this is still very high even overnight, and the idiots around me would keep me alive with severe brain damage. As I do not have an advanced directive yet, I'm not going to worry about it. I have other ways to die already prepared.
If anyone here for some reason, it wants to die by a heat wave and feel like they missed their opportunity – just travel to another really hot place in the world. You'll get it.

I think forget about the heat as a method. I literally felt like I could be dying, at least wished I was dying, which is kind of funny, bc I do, anyway. 99⁰ today where I am. Thought I was smart and went out to cut grass at 9 this morning. Got the backyard done, shut the mower off, and trimmed. Went to start the mower again to do front yard and the rope broke. Pouring out sweat, I ripped the mower apart to fix it. Every part of me was just soaking wet. Instead of going right to the store to get a new rope, I decided to go in and cool off first. Went in, ate breakfast, and fell asleep in chair in basement. Woke up at 3 in the afternoon with a pounding headache. Just hung out in basement for rest of day. I just woke up from another nap. I can't eat. Stomach is upset. Feel terrible. Still have headache. I drank 6 bottles of water outside and another 2 since coming inside. This heat is absolutely brutal. Freak the grass. Mower can wait. I'm going back to sleep.

yeah, storing sn at room temperature would be impossible right now. you'd either have to refrigerate it, or let it sit in at least 80-85 degree F weather. Should I be concerned?? I don't have a cooler so I just grabbed a small ice pack and put it adjacent to the sn bottle which is in a small plastic bag like how it came in the mail.
Plus, the heat wave is supposed to go away in I think 1-2 days from now.

If you're not going to use it for a while, and if we get more heat waves this summer, maybe consider getting something that seals very well, maybe some type of watertight can with a secure lid, place the sn in it, and bury it a couple, few feet deep where temps are more stable. Idk if it's ok in a refrigeraror. More investigation is needed on that one. It may very well be ok at temps around 40⁰ F.

fridge is not great because it has to be hidden, I live with other people who have been snoopers in the past.
I suppose I could buy a mini fridge, but that would stick out like a sore thumb wherever I would put it.

It's hidden in what I think is a really clever way. It's in a plastic bottle, and the powder is white, so I grabbed an old bottle of acrylic gesso and tore its label off. then I tore off the "sn - dangerous blah blah" label and put the acrylic one on. then I hid it behind an unopened box of colored acrylic paints in a cabinet that I stocked with art supplies.
It's a decoy, hidden in plain sight, and blends in.

but anyway. A cooler would not exactly blend in, so if you've got any suggestions on how to handle that, that would be useful.

However, a watertight airtight can is a great idea. It's where I hid my opioid. Outside in the can, buried. It's not with an ice pack or anything, but it's been sealed for a while, so it's probably super cool.

as for the container, I used to hide my opioid I can use the same for my sn. It's a kind of metallic thermos, so wherever that would blend in would make a great hiding spot.

edit: in case I decide to buy another bottle of sn, where to hide THAT is also a question. If a good hiding spot is too small to hide them both, I need a second option where it can still stay cool.
