After being hospitalized for gallstones last month, I went to the gastro doc whom I trust the most, and he told me I don't have gallstones. He's also not sure that I even have pancreatic cancer, after I've been living with that diagnosis over my head for almost two years. And I now have a script for Zofran (ondansetron).

If you're in the UK, this seems to be pretty typical of the NHS.

Just had a brain cancer scare, just to basically be told "Oh hey, half of your brain has been totally fucked for the last 10 years, but you're still not getting any help for that. We don't know why your symptoms are getting worse though :)"

They did give me new epilepsy meds, one of which is probably going to fuck up my vision for the rest of my life, so that's fun.

I went to my gastroenterologist appointment today. He ordered a bunch of tests. I have to have bloodwork, an ultrasound and an upper endoscopy done. Hopefully, he can get to the bottom of me throwing up so much for the past year

Thanks. I'm most nervous for the upper endoscopy because I have to have anesthesia and I'm afraid of waking up during the procedure even though it's rare.

I'm sure you won't. I don't know if you have had anesthesia before, but if not, then I will say that it's some powerful shit. I've only ever had one surgery and when they put the mask over my face, I started wondering how long it takes to knock me out, then suddenly everything was dark and I was waking up again lol. It's almost like I was given a free sample of death, but not an entire meal.

I've only ever had one surgery and when they put the mask over my face, I started wondering how long it takes to knock me out, then suddenly everything was dark and I was waking up again lol. It's almost like I was given a free sample of death, but not an entire meal.

Anaesthesia is crazy. The first time I got put under I was pretty young, and they told me that I'd get a treat if I finished counting back to 10. I didn't manage it, but I did get ice cream when I woke up

I've had an upper endo. They twilighted me cuz i was anxious. So I was conscious but happily out of it and had retro-amnesia. It was a doddle.

When I drove around Ireland in my old junker, I played my favourite music all the way. Until I got to Connemara. When I got there, I couldn't help it; I turned to Classical music. Couldn't help it. It was like driving across the moon.
Opened the sun roof and the windows, cranked the stereo up and, well, I guess I rocked out to some Mozart.

I'm in a funk too. Everything on top of me. Finding it hard to put one foot in front of the other right now. The dark half of the year is part of it - I hate the cold months, it really takes it toll on me. I'm so much a creature of the sunshine and the cold slows me to a crawl. But then this is me LOL...


I really wouldn't recommend watching this beyond the first couple of minutes unless you are stoned. There is some seriously psychically wooooo stuff in here and hey, LOL

Edit: fuckin trust me to have a children's cartoon spider as a hero. That's weird AF even to my ears. Oh well.

I've never had anesthesia before so this'll be my first time. Do you know what kind they use for upper endoscopy?
