The internet on it is slower than 1995 dial-up. When it even works at all.
Most of the time it won't even load a page. I can't check my notifications, I can't like posts, I can barely read threads, usually can't reply to them, can't load the next page...
It's like something is using all my RAM, but nothing else is on.

Yea they do. They still make flip phones too! Every tech gathering I've been to has been flip phone central.

"Dumb" phones are popular with this crowd because they understand the security and privacy risks. You can't hack a dumb phone.

Could it be your ISP/router etc if you are on wifi?
How old is the phone, maybe it's just dying. Still think it might be worth an OS reset. I should really do mine too, but I CBA reloading everything.

I have an old flip-phone. It doesn't work/no charger but I can't chuck it. It was tough, easy to use, cool and kept a charge for days. Flip it open to talk, and flip it shut to hang up. None of this swiping and passcodes and fumbling around with greasy fingers.
I do have smartphone and it IS useful, but I'd prefer to disconnect as much as possible. Unfortunately, I have no one to talk to LOL so I hardly use the phone anyway.
Anyway, I know I'm being spied on by the big companies like we all are. The horse has long bolted on that one and if you even try to close the gate it's a pain.

Or SLAM flip it shut, because phones could actually handle things back then lol. I remember my first two phones...they weren't flip phones, just a bit "newer" to where you had a qwerty keyboard. I miss their sturdiness and, as you said, a charge lasting for days. Lol, and you couldn't really use the Internet on them...I got a phone bill up to $200 as a kid because I decided to use it anyway. Didn't get an allowance for almost a year.

I can appreciate how we can do whatever we want on phones now, but it really would be nice to be able to disconnect with the ease that we used to. I guess that goes for technology in general. Also yeah, not too keen on being spied on thru my phone, that's creepy as hell. Rambling now, idk what I'm saying, but yeah. I agree with everything said.

I'm old school. I do use the new tech, but don't consume it as the generation below me does. My internet is OFF by default and only used on demand. WTF do I care what someone is saying on twitter of facebook?
I'm not a Luddite, I don't think we should turn our backs on technology, but I DO think we have become enslaved to it and too dependent on it, and it would be healthier to take a step back when possible.

@Underscore - mobile internet. Thing is, it worked fine for almost 2 years until I updated my internet, then it went to hell.
I emptied the cache, cleared cookies and history, uninstalled and reinstalled... still shit. It suddenly started working great again for about a week for no apparent reason, then I visited a game FAQ website and it went to shit again.
I guess I have to take it to somebody and see if they can fix it.
