An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
Speaking of React, I should probably pick it up again. I'm going to be doing web dev at work in a few months, and I would also need it if I ever publish my games. Nobody is going to buy the first few on Steam, I think.
Anyone have any advice on staying on track when you try to get some project finished?

For now, yes. I'm going to join the company in July, and I want to know something going in. And since my game dev stuff isn't going anywhere, I'd like something else to do apart from feeling like shit all day at home.
Well, just from my own experience of working freelance from home...
I found it very hard because it was at home and not in a work environment. Too easy to slack off. For me, going into work, in work clothes, meant a change of conceptual space. I suddenly put on my professional hat. Is there a way you can do something similar at home? Make sure you have a specific space set aside for example, at specific times, even wearing specific clothes? Everyone is different obviously, and that mighht not work for you, but I found that getting myself in the right head space by creating a 'work' environment could be beneficial.
Self employed HAD two businesses, working from home was hard work, but I was easily distracted, half way through the books and Id be like... housework, halfway through graphic design....oooo foooood....... and so on!!

Fuck.. everyone i normally work with are people younger than me.. so yeah they are kids to me If we get along, can work together, joke around and help each other.. then yep they are cool to me. I'm not sure if you are aware of my strange humor/behavior. If they can deal with it then thats a plus in my book.

Why the fuck are you making tea? LOL
The trick with tea/coffee and drinking is.. balance it out enough so you can stay awake..yet keep drinking
I don't drink tea or coffee,, my last one was 2nd april 2019, later that day I went into my first full blown mental break down, got section for 18 hours, not touched a hot drink since....!

I had to google coffee mouse
Did you ever look up Rum Cake?
CTB from hiding coffee cake, or coffee rum or coffee mouse from Soulless_Angel ? I can deal with it
@Underscore I'm at home, so I have next to no control over that stuff. I did get some work done for my game today though, that's going to be handy in a while. Drew some tiles, started working out the math for getting them placed appropriately. Which involved working out a list of 256 possibilities so that my code is simpler and faster. Next up, draw the player and some obstacles, and I'm good to go.
@Soulless_Angel I used to drink a lot of Old Monk during my internship... that's the 2nd cheapest thing I could drink regularly. I lived about 50m away from a liquor shop, and I had calculated exactly how much alcohol I was getting per unit cash. The cheapest was this range of shitty local whiskeys with odd names - 8PM, Old Tavern, Mysore Lancers, shit like that. I'd also developed a nasty habit of drinking neat. And drinking 75 proof alcohol neat every time for 3-4 days a week for months on end while holding down an internship was a bad idea for my liver.
In other news, I've told three people about my asexuality in the last month or so - my psychologist, my psychiatrist and my mom. My psychologist (thankfully) did not press the issue, my psychiatrist (being the typical Indian male) decided to ask me to describe what happens in my nether regions when I watch material that's supposed to be arousing in detail, and my mom asked me who told me that's what I was, implying that I couldn't make that decision myself. With all this, I'm wondering if I will ever be able to have a normal relationship. To other people who have come out as any part of the LGBTQ+ umbrella, is this reaction from others normal?

I've always admired good game design. A good game is like a sport (okay an armchair sport), an interactive story and a movie all rolled into one. The creativity I see in polished MMOs for example never ceases to amaze me.
I say that having spent a couple of hours flying round in GuildWars 2 today.

For me, it's indie titles that I find impressive. The games that are a bit rough around the edges but still remain endearing and entertaining. I'm working on a somewhat simple idea now, hopefully I can get it done in the next few weeks. I want more experience with finishing stuff instead of just starting stuff.

Ita going to take a while for me to finish it, but when I do, I'll be sure to put it up somewhere here. I would like to warn you that it might not be very good.
*The doors are flung open, and a figure clad in black strode in, his specular chrome mask encasing his whole head. Thin and elegant, he stopped and sat onto one of the many green couches that circled the large, round table, which was made of polished oak, and swept a leg onto his knee, and lent back into the cushions of the couch*
" 'Twas invited to stop by this magnificent lounge, so here I am. "
As he fixed his collar, he casually waved, and crossed his arms.
" How is everyone here, anyways? You seem to be a lively bunch. "
