What a lovely... fuck, I dunno, I'd not spill my guts to someone who looks like that. She looks like she'd really like to see the manager if she could be bothered. Seriously, is this bitch even qualified or is she yet another Twitter 'disabled' person who isn't even disabled who offers advice based on her zero world experience if you Paypal her.

It's come to my attention that there are actually a lot of so-called therapists who are pieces of shit. Makes me think they use this career to exploit others and shield themselves from scrutiny because they're lovely and took on a caring pwofession uwu

Shit like this explains why the psychotherapist subreddit went private. They don't want people hearing what filth they spew behind closed doors.

This is what I believe to be the case for many in the mental health and health industry in general.

Narcissts and other manipulators tend to be drawn to these professione because they are automatically given the benefit of the doubt as a good person just because of their job, which makes it easier for them to hide their conniving side.

I discovered a while ago that my extremely narcissistic and volatile sister is studying psychology at college. To make a long story short, she is the very last person anyone should be receiving any kind of therapy, guidance, or counselling from.

One of my therapists confessed to me that he had been talking about me to a colleague and she sneered, "ugh, you always get the weirdos".

After that, he confessed to being in love with me and we'd either have to maintain complete professional distance or he would want to be with me 24hrs a day. Which he'd be unable to explain to his wife.

Then there was another therapist who sneered at and picked fights with me for 45 minutes before throwing me out when I said I wanted to kill myself.

Then there was the therapist who told me that a near-life threatening condition was me losing my mind.

So I think therapy can fuck off, honestly. They seem to be unmedicated Cluster Bs who get their certificates by doing a 30 minute 'course' online.

I'd become a therapist to feel better about myself. I get immense satisfaction hearing about people's life being more miserable than mine.

I'd become a therapist for the status. People are easily impressed and they might get the fuck off my back.

When I was in college I got viciously destroyed by a psych major for the crime of being in love with her bff instead of her. Her bullying didn't stop until all my friends despised me and I was forced to withdraw from the school. The crippling damage from that experience still haunts me to this day.

Therapists have status?

Actual ones with doctorates do, yeah. The status of being in a profession rather than a 'job'.

From what I noticed in college, most Psych majors were vicious with tonnes of their own issues. Supposedly got into psychology "to understand themselves".

If taking an entire major to understand yourself isn't peak narcissism, not sure what is.

Shall try not to take narcissim personally... Can also be as self aware, or hope to be. Sometimes too much.

Personal fellow students were friendly albeit quirky, similar to theatre students.

Many study to understand other people so much as selves ie why world is as it is. Many to be counsellors as want to help others as know how is to go through things. Some enjoy people watch.

Still, many quirky.

Obv personally far from exception seeing as am on forum.

Would you prefer I use the term 'vain'? If you're diagnosed NPD and you're working through that, I think that's a really positive thing to do and should be recognised.

I feel like the more vocal psychology students want to look at themselves (but only the good or 'deep' parts) and also mindread and subtly manipulate others. As if studying psychology is, indeed, mindreading. And obviously this is quite a nefarious motive.

Again, that's my experience and probably won't match yours.

I enjoy people watching but purely surface-level. I'm not really sure why.

Neither narcissistic nor vain, and have no NPD diagnosis.

Self awareness often not part of either attribute, and many who have trauma/issues have elevate self awareness as often self-monitoring/self doubting or wanting to 'fix' self. Some want to understand those who caused pain.

Will note that was mature student and studied among others in 20s / 30s /40s as opposed to 18-21 in which dynamic often different.

Think may be projecting motives onto many students not deserving. Most vocal = most obnoxious in many subjects and often minority. Studying psych as science is statistics/research methods whilst skim over wide field eg conditioning, cognition, attachment, sociology, all sorts. Learning names/dates etc.

Closest came to manipulation was taking confectionary first few times meeting person while networking for positive association. Not need degree to know that.

I'm finding it a little difficult to understand you. Is English your first language?
