Idk what to do with my life

I've been wanting to record covers of some songs I like for a long time, so I practice the song when I can, and when I finally get around to recording, I do two or three takes and listen to them, but I end up hating my voice, i start feeling that every note is wrong and stop singing for two or three months, and then I start again. I've been like this for at least two years :( idk what to do.

Try to practice a little every day and record yourself from time to time. That way you'll have something to listen back to and see where you can improve and notice what you already like about your singing. With enough dedication you'll eventually get to where you want to be. It also helps to set deadlines for your recordings and stick to them, even if you don't feel ready, it'll still help you progress :)

I can't sing at all. I hate the sound of my voice (I've heard most people hate their own voice in recordings?) I know a few people who think they are good but are so bad it literally makes my eyes water and feels like hot acid being poured in my ears. It could be that you're not as bad as you think. Don't give up!

Learn music theory if your struggle is with being tone deaf, also if it's causing you significant stress get a coach.

Also let yourself suck, sometimes there is an element of being realistic and you not being the greatest but that takes the joy out of life and improvement. You can improve.
Sound like a dog if you have to. Autotune tf out of yourself if you want to post it.

I have some good news: if you recognize that your pitch is off, you're (probably) not tone deaf!

Do you play an instrument? Because that will help immensely with accurately matching your voice to the note you're trying to hit. You could also try downloading a pitch matching app to help guide you & offer a visual aid.

Is there anything else you don't like about your singing voice that you're trying to correct? Tone? Resonance? Diction? Power/projection? Too airy or breathy?
