The man who invented Hawaiian pizza, setting off one of the biggest debates in food, died on Thursday at the age of 83. Sam Panopoulos, who was born in Greece and moved to Canada when he was 20, decided to try out pineapple on pizza in 1962 to attract customers to one of his Ontario-based restaurants.

"We just put it on, just for the fun of it, see how it was going to taste,"

"We were young in the business and we were doing a lot of experiments."

"I have a pineapple. I have a pizza. And I stand behind this delicious Southwestern Ontario creation,"

An obituary for Panopoulos described the Hawaiian pizza inventor as an "unforgettable personality," and commended him for his loyalty, protective nature and sense of humor.

Wikipedia is not a reliable source and turns out your high school teacher was not an out of touch boomer. Many people are still under the impression that everything there is factual and unbiased, when in reality, it's actually the opposite.

It gets some things right, but it's also extremely inaccurate at times and highly susceptible to vandalism. Not only that, but PR companies, advertisers, political parties and even religious groups constantly edit articles with misleading information that either paints them in a positive light, or makes the other side/detractors look bad in the eyes of the reader.

Even Larry Sagner, wikipedia's co-founder and they guy who gave it it's name, has been very vocal about his criticism of the website. He's been very critical about many of its issues, including the website's neutral point of view that has mostly been abandoned, he recently he wrote an article about the blatant and extreme left bias on some articles and topics, which is a really interesting read.

If it's on wikipedia and it's a political article or otherwise related to current events I immediately assume that it's trash as well.

Humans live way too long and old people aren't "wise", they're annoying.

I feel chocolate ice cream is a mistake. It's somehow never quite right and always a disappointment. I don't know why; I'm generally a chocolate lover but it just doesn't work in ice cream.

This. It's always got a weird gritty texture to it, and it never actually tastes like chocolate.

Milk completely ruins tea and coffee. It stops tasting like tea/coffee and starts tasting like warm milk with a weird taste to it.

Fireworks are shit and boring. Once you've seen one massive display you've seen them all. They are a waste of money, keep me awake, piss off the local dogs and cats and leave a mess all over the neighbourhood. Who TF has that much cash to send up in smoke? Give it to me instead!
