• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I no longer want to be part of the LGBT+ community despite falling under its umbrella because of a lot of the nastiness I have seen stem from other members of the community. I feel like being LGBT+ used to be about fighting for us to have equal rights and to some extent we have been achieving that (gay marriage being legalized, trans rights being more and more recognized and talked about, etc). But more and more lately whenever I join an online discussion it is an unpleasant experience. I have seen friends get shit all over as if being LGBT+ means you're part of the oppression olympics. I have had people tell me I am a bigot for not being pansexual and that pansexuality is the only "moral" sexuality. I have seen lesbians and gay men get harassed for not dating people they are not sexually attracted to. I recently had to block someone on another site who went on an angry tangent at me that all straight people should be gas chambered because "they will never understand me". Recently a good friend of mine got doxxed and harassed because another friend of hers wanted to date her, and she said no because she's married, and this person has gone on to harass her for MONTHs and has been calling her "transphobic" despite it having nothing to do with them being trans and my friend having dated tons of trans people in the past. Another friend of mine was cussed out for being openly asexual and made fun of because apparently asexual people can't face discrimination (news flash: they can and do).

All I ever wanted was for people to be able to live their own lives the way they wanted to, to be able to openly be gay or trans without being bullied or even murdered. And now I'm just ashamed to be part of the "community" because of the way some people have been acting. It's gotten to the point that when people find out I'm bisexual I have to clarify that I'm not also insane and that I will not harass them over how they live their life. And I have many non-binary, gay/lesbian, bisexual, etc. friends who have recently voiced to me that they feel the same way. And I find it all very, very sad.

Just because procreation is natural doesn't mean it's moral. (No, I don't hate parents.)
Whether something is natural or not really has no bearing on its morality or whether or not it should be condoned, and I wish people would stop using that as an argument, even to support "good" things. Rape is also something that "naturally" occurs in wildlife/the animal kingdom/nature, that doesn't make it acceptable (for example).
· If someone says the word "sheeple", I automatically picture them with a tin foil hat on their head.
I do enjoy that word due to the succinct imagery in brings to mind.
· K-Pop is extremely overrated, most rap sucks and country music is so corny that I get secondhand embarrassment just from listening to it.
Yes, the K-pop industry is also extremely fucked up but k-pop fans don't like to acknowledge that.

Never watch Enola Holmes.

They turned Mycroft into a stupid misogynist.
In the Jeremy Brett version, he was kind and really smart and confident.
In the BBC, he was caring though a bit cold and distant. Also really smart.
In the Enola movie, he behaves like Enola literally ruined his life by not wearing a hat and gloves on a sunny summerday at the trainstation. He was full of disgust and seemed like he wanted to punch Enola after Enola talked back to him. He also doesn't know what a tennis racket is.

Enola is a smartass. She also constantly looks at the camera when she should look at elsewhere. For example, when she meets her brothers, instead of saying to them "Hi! It's been a long time since we last saw!" she instead turns away from his brothers and looks at the camera while explaining to the viewer "These are my brothers, I haven't seen them in a long time."

Sherlock doesn't have a personality. He doesn't really speak.

Who taught this would be a good script?

Enola meets his brothers at a train-station after a long time.
His brothers pass by her as if she was air. They can clearly see she's standing in the middle of the street and yet they rudely ignore her.
Enola calls them.
They turn.
Mycraft is a stupid misogynistic bitch who complains about every thing. And is more easily offended than a thousand twitter users.
Sherlock is quiet.
Enola is a smart and sassy and feminist tomboy girl who says smartass things to Mycroft.
The end.

I could literally make a better script in a minute. Any person could!

Then the mother and Enola play tennis indoors, because of course they do. And Mycroft looks like he gets a heart attack. He asks "Where the hell is she [mother]? And what does Enola reply?! She looks straight into the eyes of the viewer and says "This is going pretty well." WTF! I feel uncomfortable with the way she talks to the viewer instead of her brothers. I'm a shy introvert, I don't watch movies to have the main character speak to me.

In the books and in the Brett and BBC series, Mycraft is lazy. Here he is so impatient. And bossy. Nothing has happened in the movie yet, yet Mycroft behaves like they are in a really serious trouble and have little time to lose, Brett and BBC Mycroft were never so bossy and in a hurry even when they were in danger.

WHY MUST THIS MOVIE BE SO ON FACE! There's literally a feminist book that Mycroft picks up in disgust.

Art of subtlety is something they lack.

Reading book does not equal education. I read a book about politics, immediately after putting it down, I forgot all I had just read. And that sassy hatfucker said that she only read book's written by women. What if I only read books written by Swedes? Would it make me smart to tell my brother Sherlock Holmes, "Look brother, I'm smart and educated, I only read Swedish books!"? Guess the makers of the movie never read the original Sherlock books because they weren't written by a woman.

I thought the Christmas special BBC episode was awful with its "A master who had just returned home after a long and hard work day was angry and wasn't the nicest person to a servant" that makes him a misogynist. If the maid had been a male he would have still been as grumpy and mean to him! If you wanted to show him being a misogynist why not make him see a couple of women on a street talking about buying their own boat and then going to them and laughing "Hahaha, women could never learn to drive a boat!". That would be misogynistic. Being grumpy to all his servants isn't.

I swear I know the reason they put Cavil in the movie.

I literally have to stop watching this movie. Today I see a victim of a dog attack. I'd rather see that photo again. Of course they started speaking about Enola's education and how Mycroft owns everything and how Enola blah blah..

In a nut shell:
Mycroft is the stupidest person ever. He is also the meanest, almost sociopathic, most easily offended. And a huge misogynistic. Always complaining.
Sherlock either doesn't talk at all or whiteknights Enola with two words.
Enola is a smartass who can't stay five minutes without looking and speaking to the viewer.

Makers could have first written a book about feminism, and then made a film about Holmes.

Now they are literally talking about how Mycroft is bitter about the fact that he's an idiot, while Sherlock is smart and Enola is the smartest. Why do they always have to add a sister? And why is the sister always the smartest even if she was a 16 year old brat or a literal psychopath who has spend almost all her life in prison? Mycroft has to use his intelligence in his work! Sherlock is literally the world's only consulting detective! He needs to be really smart! How can a 16 year old brat who has spent her whole life inside her home doing nothing and a psychopath that has spent her whole life in prison doing nothing both be so much smarter?

Well, they were relucntant, a male writer is the lesser evil. But how did they agree to it not being in swedish? Sjørlok Holm.

Which is best:
"börk"
"børk"
"bœrk"
Björk? :haha: Her early songs were nice.

Here's a guess by somebody who doesn't know a letter of swedish, or even german.

Börk is the equivalent of german "berg"? Contemporary swedish?
Børk is in danish (sorry, I apologize for misplacing this letter in your alphabet. Swedish house mafia, remain seated, I said - sorry).
bœrk is an archaic form of the first word, something reminiscentof old english, like apple - æppel? If not, regional dialect, or minority language (like the Sami in Finland).

P.S. I'd have to ask a native. Except blonde, tall and rich, and progressive - what are swedes usually like? Where do they go for fun? And where does one go as a tourist, except of course Stockholm?

Börk isn't a real word, it's a meme: https://www.polandballwiki.com/wiki/Börk Now this site has been successfully infected with Börk.

Swedes are alcoholic. Like all cold countries. Like Germany they are also exceptionally order-loving. Which leads to lots of funny episodes when they get drunk, loosen up a bit too much and start doing ridiculous things. It's a contrast.

Where you go as a tourist depends on what you like. If you like typical sightseeing, besides Stockholm you can go to Gothenburg. If you like nature/forests/the sea/comfy you can go to any small coastal town. When I lived in the north I was surprised by the huge hordes of Germans who go camping there in the summer. I lived in a small town and it had a camping site next to it (where you can rent a cabin or set up a trailer) that was larger than the town itself.

How do swedes react to poor-looking toruists, and what do they usually drink? I hope it's more akin to a good pub envionment, unlike most westwen Europe - dull.

What are those germans like as well? I am not surprised you said nothing about crime, because outside Malmö, guess it's just pickpocketing here and there.

The SN method will disappear and become harder to get all because of the sourcing on here. And because of the recent celebrity death who used sn it's only a matter of time. But hey just keep posting sources people. And because of them I won't have a peaceful method anymore and have to go back to fucking hanging myself. This site talks so much about having access to peaceful methods but what happens when those peaceful methods disappear? Ultimately even the people here don't care.

I don't understand older generations saying ''young people don't get outside anymore. during our times we were outside non stop and playing games together we had a true childhood unlike those asocial loser zoomers who just play at their computers non stop!''. Like what? What's wrong in staying inside and playing or browsing on your PC? You had a true childhood in your opinion okay, but don't shit on the younger generation's childhood who clearly have different preferences and that's okay? How low can you be to want to make yourself seem supreme over others regarding the way they decide to spend their childhood? Humans are so weird man. And just fyi, young fellows didn't disappear. Not every teenager or kid is spending their time non stop at the computer. At least where I live I always hear children and teenagers playing outside (though not these days since the weather is shit).

But let me tell you my story and maybe that's also the way things were for many people. When I was a child I went outside and really wanted to play with the other kids, but they would always ignore me and push me away. I wanted so so much to play with them but they were mean to me. People in the city I live in generally suck. After a while I had found the computer and since then and during my whole childhood it was a big part of my life and day. I could play games, I could meet other kids and teens who were more accepting and better than the ones in my area, I could learn new things (pretty much all the knowledge I have was gained through the internet so I'm very thankful that internet exists + I don't think I could have learnt much if I only went outside), I met my best friend on the internet who made my teenager years and my life in general better. I used to play a MMO game that always made me feel better and pretty much all my friends back then were from that game and I have so many good memories from there and I'll never forget it.

Call me a loser, I don't fucking care. If the way I spent my childhood made me happy and gained a lot from it that's all that matters. All those elitist boomers can go fuck themselves. Whether you spent your childhood outside or at the computer both are okay, it's your life and no one else has control over it.

I hate this meme so goddamn much because I have this mentality and it is literally why I have tunnel vision on so many things in life. I wish I could give up, be less stubborn, and just learn to accept that there really are no diamonds ahead of the tunnel for me and that even if I found them they'd probably stab me or something instead.

Beer and wine are popular. Back in the day they apparently used to drink spirits like Russians, they tried to ban and regulate it because the population was literally drinking itself to death. It's not a coinsidence they still have a state monopoly on alcohol. Norway also has one.

Central stockholm has a good pub environment if you're into that. Especially now after covid restrictions are removed everyone is partying their pants off. At the start of october our office boss booked an after work at a fancy restaurant for us and people went at it until 4 in the morning because they were so party-starved.

The fundamental problem with this picture is that it implies that hard work and determination are the only prerequisites for success, while genetics/environmental influences/luck play an equally, if not more, important role. It is akin to telling a man who has gambled away all his possessions at the casino to keep playing because "you never know how close you are."

But why and how is Sweden so much better? Do they do ditribution or prices better?

Had an immigrant relative in Trondheim, he would say how norwegians have a piss poor drinking market (gravitating towards vodka), always going for tens or hundred kilometres just to cross the swedish border and buy alcohol from there.

By the way, are pubs in Sweden more like irish and UK pubs, or just student party locations like clubs?

No, but I've been to Børk Havn in Danbørk

I never buy booze when I'm in Norway but I'd assume they have worse sortiment and ridiculous prices due to high alcohol tax. The swedish monopoly is the single largest purchaser of alcoholic beverages in the world so they must know what's up. I've ordered obscure Chinese rice wines from it that you'll never find through normal outlets in an average western country.

There are plenty of quarter pubs with cheap booze and big wooden tables where crowds of pot-bellied middle aged men sip beer and discuss life. I don't go there myself but it radiates Britishness.
