  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I mean, of course we aren't. I'm sure no one is on this forum because of an excess of happiness or riches. but at the same time I think that what we do have (if we have the necessary means) is a choice and a power a lot of other people don't have or choose not to exercise. how cool is it, being able to decide when things are finally over? what freedom is greater? how many people live dreading a death that might or might not come at any moment? being able to say "my life ends today, tomorrow, two months from now" is so powerful

I think that those with SN, but especially N are very lucky as they have a way to exit when the time is right for them that isn't too horrible, at least in comparison to many other methods. I don't feel lucky at all as I feel trapped in this world as suicide is difficult for me. There is limited access to methods and also the fear of failure.

If it was easier to leave I would be already gone. Those who have left this world are certainly lucky as they cannot suffer anymore, I envy them. I do think that suicide is the best way to die, as after all we will all die eventually so I see it as preferable to exit at a time of my own choosing rather than it being out of my control.

Imagine people born in the future. If euthanasia becomes more acceptable for people with mental illness and different physical conditions and peaceful dying with N gets more avalible. Maybe they look at us as barbaric.

Why don't you just buy SN from IC? Where are you from?

It's risky for me and I have explained this more elsewhere on here. I don't think this is the right thread for discussing why people can/cannot get access to certain methods, there are other threads for this.

I agree with you fellow sufferer. It could be so much worse, as bad as it is now. We can thankfully choose to leave in most instances, and the only thing stopping us is SI if we have access to a proper method. I appreciate this post, thank you

Yes,to be able to control our own destiny is quite powerful indeed---I can end it all in just 30 minutes at any time with my Nitrogen set-up,...at any time--Unlike my brother who just got the bad news that his lung cancer is getting worse, despite immunotherapy treatment--CTB is out of the question for him(so far)because he has three grown kids and 3 grandkids(4th on the way in just two weeks)so his time is growing shorter.....and so is mine because after he goes, there's nothing to delay my own CTB anymore
