1. End Of Evangelion
2. Fight Club
3. Lord Of The Rings trilogy
Seen barely any movies except some of the really popular classics
Omg how could I forget, the newest demon slayer movie was pure kino, even if its only draw is its sakuga, imo the cookie cutter plot complements the action
1. Lord of the Rings
2. The Shining
3. The Machinist.
There are many others I really like (other Kubrick films like Eyes Wide Shut and 2001) but I do also love the Dark Knight. It's hard to imagine we'll ever make movies to beat the LOTR trilogy though.
Reactions:
Suizid, Cosmophobic, StunningIntent and 1 other person
Primer... I still don't understand that movie. I watched and read detailed explanations of it, several times, but when I watch it, I still have no clue what's going on. :)
I haven't watched a movie in about 15 years. I haven't seen the vast majority of films considered 'the classics', either. But my past self would likely reply with this odd assortment:
1. The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982)
2. The New World (2005)
3. Hercules (1997)
If I could expand it to stage productions that have been filmed live, I'd have a lot of choices available.
1. Truman show (I love how the film communicates its multiple layers of meanimg whilst still keeping an interesting surface-level plot; unchallengable no 1)
2. Lost in translation (dont really care about the story too much, but the cinematic shots of tokyo and the edits are unbeatable)
3. Whiplash (because I watched it recently and thought it had some of greatest character portaits Ive ever seen)
American Made, We're The Millers, Hangover trilogy (3 movies technically in that one, but they are so repetitive so "basically" a one movie)
I'm a big comedy guy
1. Fight club
2. True detective season 1
3. Breaking bad
I know last two arent movies, but i allowed myself. There are others that also come realy close but these 3 win for me. I reeeealy love Vince Gilligan's way of directing, also in better call saul, that slow almost frozen scenes from time to time where nothing is happening, I just loved that.
