What kind of passionflower tincture do you take?

For capsules, I just use Amazon. Can get reishi, ashwagandha, etc, from there.

For tinctures:
I'm in the UK so I get herbs from Napier's, can google for website, they ship to Europe.
If your in the US people use mountain rose herbs or herb pharm

I tend to use tinctures for nervines like passion flower, lemon balm, St. John's wort etc
I use powdered capsules for adaptogens like ashwagandha, reishi, holy basil etc

Dose just start with the packaging, you can PM me if you want to know something specific like that, I can tell you what works for me anyways.

@LittleJem, is correct about St. John's wort and Brintellix, probably not the best idea.

Good suggestion. I could try, but I don't have any faith in my doctor anymore. To me they only seem interested in selling you meds. But I'll try. can't hurt I guess.

That Liposomal GABA with L-Theanine, is that addictive? I thought anything that had the name GABA in it and works on this area in the brain, is addictive?

It is non addictive, you can buy over the counter. Here in the US it's available at our local nutrition store GNC as well as online through them.

I understand your feelings about the doc... been there. Always remember, you have the opportunity to become an active participant in your treatment and guide your doc towards something you're more comfortable with. That is empowering and exactly what you are doing now. Bravo.

I would suggest something more unconventional like LSA? It's classed as a psychoactive substance and can be found in nature (Hawaiian Baby woodrose seeds for example). It has original uses as an entheogen. but it has immensely helped me and I only took it once back in 2017. I am trying to access this paper, but I can't but if you can it might explain more how it works? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6364961/

For me CBD makes day to day much more bearable, also raw cacao (is a stimulant, makes getting up and moving possible at the moment)

I appreacate all your answers and suggestions but sadly I'm so stressed out in my head and body due to suffering that I have a hard time navigating through all the suggestions. It just makes me dizzy and even more stressed.

The only thing I can say right now, is that I have tinnitus and hyperacusis which means a lot of medications carry a risk of worsening these, and lots of medicine is ototoxic (toxic to the inner ear and hearing nerve) SSRI is especially one you should refrain from when you have these conditions cause they carry the greatest risk of worsening. What I mean is, I can't just try all kinds of different medications cause that would be too risky for my tinnitus and hyperacusis. Brintellix and especially Remeron/mirtazapine carry the lowest risk of worsening these, which I why I agreed to them to start with. I was also on Venlafaxine before I became aware of the possible danger of meds vs. tinnitus/hyperacusis, but that drug didnt do anything for me other then give me horrible sweats just from walking up 10 stairs for instance, and very dry mouth which didnt go away (I was on them some months.)......there were other side effects but cant remember them now, but the sweats were intolerable as I had sweat running down my face many times a day.

That is why I really don't wanna go the medication route, as least not until all other options have been tried, and if nothing works and I keep feeling this horrible, then sure as a last resort it can be nessecary in order jo keep me alive. I Know that it will only buy me more time.......cause tolerance will develop or the medicine will stop working after some years. That's just how it is. But it's better then nothing,

I don't think I am bipolar at all. I am never manic, not even close to it.

I am not in US or UK though. I don't wanna say where I'm from specifically, but I am in Europe.

A friend on tinnitustalk suggested Ashwaganda and reishi and I am gonna try those + passionsflower. And I'll try St. johns wort too. If their is any suggestions for natural supplements I have missed just let me know.

I don't wanna go the psychedelic road, that's highly illegal here and I wouldnt even know where to obtain these.
Bipolar 2 people often are not manic. They tend to stay in the depressive state. They can become hypomanic( as opposed to full blown mania in bipolar 1 people)

I'm gonna start with the ashwaganda, Reishi and somebody not on here, suggested ionic liquad magnesium.

That's my starting point. If that doesnt work then onto CBD, Liposomal GABA with L-Theanine and whatever else that has been suggested.

Bumping this thread up........

I am now on Aswagandha and Reishi for 2-3 months and I can say that it has done nothing for me so far.

What should I go for now? Liposomal GABA with L-Theanine??

(I am still on remeron and brintellix)

Damiana, perhaps. I would have been dead for nine months by now had it not been for that herb. Instead of taking capsules, I suggest you brew tea on it.
