• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Power/ influence.

Money itself is a form of power and can be used to buy more power, status, and influence for oneself, but there is also a limit. Elon Musk, despite his massive amounts of wealth, will never be able to bring himself to the same good reputation as bill gates or warren buffet, simply because no matter what there will be too many people who will remember the actions he has already taken that they consider to be idiotic, dangerous, or even evil.

Likewise, when they step into a small town diner, no billionaire will ever be able to buy the same kind of near universal fame and love in the hearts of the people that a disabled war veteran, a firefighter, or an olympic athlete could command. Billionaires usually can manipulate the law freely when dealing with corporate regulations, foreign policy, most domestic policy and workers rights, but they can't touch rights that the people have decided (actually decided) they deserve. (I was going to say traditions but then I remembered modern santa claus is a coca-cola advertisement lol)

I think love is similar. Money can make opportunities for people to love someone platonically or romantically, but are the people in love with the billionaire or are they subconsciously in love with the money?

nothing. the living can buy illusions of everything that you've listed, freedom, love, health, for wads of cash.

Money is a strange animal. It takes on my guizes, and is chameleon like in that it can shift form over time.

Money's a language. It's absence or abundance signifies how you are organized in the world and how you move around it (or not).

Money can be love, but more often it is fear. Not always but more commonly, it's absence generates anger and longing; it's abundance greater expansion and often, ironically, isolation.

And money is, of course, a weapon. It's granting or restricting is the stick that drives the herd here and there. The same goes for nations as for people.

It is better to have money; I think most people would agree with that sentiment. The trick comes when you have it; who are you going to be?

Money is a strange animal indeed.

As a poor person stuck in a third world country, nothing is above money.

Financially stable people say that there's things about money, but when you actually have no money, or lack money you'll see how important money is, you can choose love, freedom etc over being RICH, but you can't choose it over money as a whole

Being free, having a lover, being religious etc won't give you a house, won't pay your bills, won't feed you, won't let you travel etc

Without money you survive like an animal..
