An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
Disneyland Paris as a kid, I love the Peter Pan ride where you fly in a boat over a miniature city, also this back when 3D-cinema first started and they had an attraction where you watch a movie with 3d-glasses that was 2D at first but then switches into 3D with things popping out, really amazing back the as a kid and we lived in the cool old western district wow
It did take me a minute to think of a few moments of in my life that I think back fondly on. I remember the 1st time me and my bro booted up Halo on the ol xbox and fatback crt tv in the dead of the night and nearly pissed ourselves when we reached that one level with the flood and laughing right after saying we'll pick it back up in the morning. And yanno playing any co-op game in general was always a fun time, we butted heads alot if we did anything competitive (mario kart/party was a family splitter lmfao).
A more recent memory I come to cherish is one in which I played wingman to an ex-friend of mine to another friend she had a crush on at a bar and sparks went off that night. Lot of heartfelt feelings were said, everyone was getting mushy including me.
And another big one I'd be remiss to forget is when I confessed to my gf that I loved her. I know feeling are just neurotransmitters and synapses firing off and allat but god damn it feels good to give love and have that love be reciprocated back wholeheartedly. It's something you'll always remember.
Spending time with my dad when I was really little, like 3-6 years old. Things like mushroom hunting on the farm under the full moon, or going camping up in the mountains for a week. He's never really been emotionally available so when we did do things together that felt really special.
I have so many happy memories, luckily. It's lovely thinking about them, but also sorrowful we won't make any new ones, especially when I won't have any with my own future family/children.
But from the top of my head…
A cat climbing on me whilst sitting on a slide in my grandma's apartment complex's playground in Hong Kong.
The times my parents held my hands to swing me as a kid.
This past summer, sitting on the grass drinking cider and snacking on fruit with my parents on a breezy summer afternoon. Another happy memory was painting with my parents in a park, also a cool summer afternoon :)
The times my dad and I completed the newspaper's sudoku & crossword puzzle pages together whilst commuting.
Random complements lol - most memorable was an old lady saying I'm beautiful in the toilets haha, that day we were celebrating my dad's birthday (the queen had just died a few hours earlier too, rip)
Those days when I got to hang out with the girl I love more than anyone else.
04/11/2015 and 04/01/2022
And in general, July 2014 - April 2015.
This will never happen again in my life
It has to be way back during my first semester in college, right about the time I had just finished my first IT class and was so ready for the many more classes I was going to take.
It was the fact I found my community for the moment and was at peace for that brief moment in time. Truly an experience.
2015, on the bus coming back home from a marching band competition. It was a starry night and the people had settled down quite a bit. I was laying across the aisle, my feet in the opposite seat, with my head resting on my gf's lap. I just remember staring up at the stars floating past us, as she gently traced the outline of my face with the tip of her finger. That was nice.
