• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

It rains all the time. One of the main reasons I moved from near NYC to Arizona is the weather. I was super depressed when it was cold and rainy half the year.
I'd probably supplement vitamin D and magnesium and do bright light therapy in the morning if I lived in such weather.

although living in too hot weather also has its downsides. they give us insomnia and bad sleep quality.

I wonder why there are so many people here from UK. is UK that depressive?
Several reasons:
1) The weather is grey, rainy and dark, most find that depressing. UK citizens do not have the legal right to live in other warmer places, like EU and US citizens do.
2) People here are not that friendly, compared to places like North America and parts of mainland Europe. People are cold and disinterested in each other leading to a loneliness epidemic.
3) Poor governmental healthcare and social care services after a decade of governmental cuts, not seen this severe since world war 2
4) Stagnating economy compared to other developed economies leading to poor future career and life prospects.

Sunny weather, it's a good place but I think the main problem is not where you live, it's how you live.

I don't think it's in the top 5 for quality of life. Those would be scandinavian countries etc. But I was comparind it to other developed economies

From Mainland China, but in NYC now.
The point is that SS is totally unknown in China. Ironically it was the NYT post that helped me find SS, and NYT is blocked from visiting at China mainland.
And once this website becomes popular in PRC, I am quite sure that SS will be banned (just like many EU countries). Even if SS has not been banned, participating in discussions on this website requires English proficiency. So most PRC users will be blocked from using SS due to language problems.
