I'm probably both but I'm curious to see what brought people to this forum.
UK users: Due to a formal investigation into this site by Ofcom under the UK Online Safety Act 2023, we strongly recommend using a trusted, no-logs VPN. This will help protect your privacy, bypass censorship, and maintain secure access to the site. Read the full VPN guide here.
Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.
This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.
In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I was surprised to find this site too. It's comforting to talk about this without people spouting suicide helpline type shit at you.I am set on CTB but before I do I had a huge urge to talk with like minded sufferers. So I searched for suicide websites with little success at first until I came across a blog talking about SS. Since joining SS, my days aren't so dull anymore.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I found the place through my brother who also ctb. I feel you.I came here because I found the place when looking at my sons history (he CTB in July last year) suicide has been on my mind everyday since he died in different ways, one being understanding what he was thinking and feeling and then to my own thoughts about my life.
i'm affected by your desire to find insight into why he made his decision. for years after my mother committed suicide my feelings were hurt, anger, guilt, among others. i wasn't able to see past my own emotions to try to understand what she went through in her very chaotic life. kudos to you for seeing past your own emotions to seek this understanding. i imagine you may share some of the same feelings i had/have about my mother's suicide but i hope for you that being here helps alleviate the burden....one being understanding what he was thinking and feeling and then to my own thoughts about my life.
