  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

it is recommended that we use 98% sodium nitrite but why? wouldn't using a less pure one (lets say 90%) but ingesting more of it achieve the same effect ? e.g instead of using 30g of 98% sodium nitrite the person uses 33g of 90% sodium nitrite, shouldn't this work and give around the same result as using 98% SN?

The more percent the better. This is recommended, because SN is really salty so ingesting less of it and still having enough to ctb is more comfortable for the individual taking it.

I would agree, the more pure, the less you have to take. But perhaps more importantly what component is the non-sodium nitrite, because if that 10% component is something that counters the effects of sodium nitrite, then that could make it even less effective? But if you can know for certain that it's just a filler, with no biological action, then you should be fine with the lower concentration. (Just taking more)

I'm not an expert in the SN protocol, but I assume they are right about it. There are some disadvantages to low purity SN, as I see it:

1. It's harder to prepare the dose if you don't use pure SN. You would need to make sure you know what the exact purity is and you would need to calculate how much you need to use. If it's (almost) pure, it's more straightforward, you can simply follow the protocol.

2. What's the other component? If it's toxic, it could make you suffer a lot. Or maybe it could make you vomit. Or it would affect your body in a way that it would "save" you, or would make our death slower. Or maybe it is dangerous, or it's corrosive if you drink it, or it simply tastes way worse. It's not desirable to drink unknown chemical products, even if you are supposed to be dead soon.

3. Even if the other component is harmless, you still need to drink it. If you use low purity SN, you would need to drink more water or drink a more concetrated dose. That means you are more likely to vomit, or to be unable to drink it, or it could affect the way your stomach absorbs the SN.
