• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Let's assume your death will be peaceful. Would you prefer to know it was on the horizon or, if it just came out of the blue?

I'm not really sure. There would be advantages to knowing of course. I could ensure all my affairs were in order. I could budget so that I could give up work, relax and maybe visit a few places. I could say goodbye to people. But then- I also think it would make me nervous knowing it was coming. Even if I was assured it would be peaceful, the unknown element to death makes it daunting. Maybe it would be nicer just not to know. Be here one moment and, gone the next.

Obviously, knowing the date applies to suicide although, we don't necessarily know we'll be successful in an attempt. What are your thoughts?

Sorry for the typo in the title!

If I'm in responsible for it, I'll of course like to know in advance, but it's a disease or an accident, I'd rather have it as a surprise. It'd stress me out. The thing that's comforting with suicidal ideation is that you're more in control of yourself. Instead of leaving death up to fate, you have a choice of when your time has come. At least that's what I'm thinking. There are some disadvantages to not knowing your death, but for me, it'd me uncomfortable knowing the countdown, that's unless I am doing the dying part.

I think I'd rather know. You can plan accordingly. It will affect a lot of decisions you make. I think it might give me more patience with stuff if I knew that the end was in sight assuming it was closer rather than later.

Do we still get the option to CTB if our date is too far away and we can't imagine making it that far lol?

Actually- yeah- that would be useful wouldn't it? If we knew our natural death date. Then, we could decide whether it was feasible to hang on for. Lol- a 'best before' and 'use by' date would be good really...

Gosh, I'd do anything to know. It would make getting through the day so much easier. Every single night my only comfort is that I'm one day closer to death. But it would be so motivating to know how close that is. I'm planning to CTB probably this week, so hopefully soon!

I voted for the fact that I prefer to know, especially if it is a peaceful one and 100% guaranteed, no ifs, ands, or buts, and that I will go through with it without any impingment, interference, or those who oppose it (the keyword 'guaranteed'). I would definitely be relieved and would put me at easy knowing that I don't have to resort to brutal, potentially painful and risky methods to escape suffering. Additionally, I would be able to do whatever I can to ensure that I fulfill my bucket list to the best that I can (not that it matters after death but does matter while I'm still sentient and able to feel and experience pain and pleasure), while making sure that everything is in order.

If I weren't suicidal then I wouldn't want to know, I'd be unable to live properly and would just count the days, but since that's not the case I think I'd rather know and prepare for it, it would probably give me some sort of euphoria even. I'd spend the rest of my time doing things I've been wanting to do, I know I'm going to die eventually because we all do, but having the confirmation that it's actually gonna happen would give me a sense of comfort.

i would like to know the date - it could be possible that it gives me some hope for the future if i get to know that i have 60 more years to live before i die

it would mean that i would have a future ahead of me and that i've gotten everything out of life

Has anyone used any of the "death date" websites that predict when you'll die? I know that a website using some form of algorithm to calculate when you might die based on age, weight, sex, diet, physical activity, etc., can't reliably predict when you'll die, but I was actually a little bit hesitant about trying it out. Finally, curiosity got the best of me, and I tried it. It said that I should have died 8 years ago, on April 23, 2016. My first thought was, "that explains so much!" The last eight years haven't exactly been easy, the last year in general has been the toughest so far.

I mean, if I knew for sure when I was going to die, then I could do a bunch of dumb fun shit and not worry about it killing me then!

a death date predictor once told me I was gonna die on may 30, 2063. it's the 60th anniversary of finding nemo, the first movie I ever saw and my favourite pixar movie. would be a beautiful date to die on, though I don't even think I'll make it to that day, with how I'm living I'm already on the road to an early grave.

I'd like to know. I like to plan out every last detail of everything that I can. So even if my death is not a suicide, and I just know when it's going to happen, I would want to know. That way I can plan my will accordingly and get all my affairs in order. I can say my goodbyes, try to ensure my loved ones are there. I wouldn't want to go suddenly and leave my loved ones directionless
