Just watched the BBC's documentary about Sasu. Even managed to identify the accounts of the people that passed in the video.

I would definitely recommend watching it especially if you are in the UK like me. Definitely shows why naming sources is not a good idea 😬

Documentry name: Poisoned: Killer in the post

Yes exactly these two! Some active members here right now made an appearance in them as well as the accounts of people that passed. Anonymised of course but was not hard at all for me to trace who they're talking about. A bit scary.

They made entertainment out of these people's deaths? What disgusting and sadistic bastards they are, how deranged do you have to be to see a forum like this and then think "let me make a documentary about it".

If the families want to personally talk about it on their own podcast without attacking anyone, fine by me. But what the fuck is this NCIS style show. Are we just entertainment for them?

And they think this site is the problem :/ I know I'm new here, but from what I can tell people support each other and are compassionate towards each other here. They don't give any actual fucks about people, they just need ratings and ad sales and to feel morally superior. Fuck society.

Suicide is a personal choice but it will always be controversial. No matter what, there will be someone who will impose their belief system on others so this documentary was inevitable.

We also need to acknowledge that suicide has a ripple effect on those we leave behind.

I don't plan on watching, but the over dramatized title is enough to tell me what this is about. I hate when people use those specific words for suicide too, it implies a lack of agency. Pro-lifers act like suicidal people are possessed by demons or something and don't choose to die themselves, they refuse to live outside their perfect worldview over the fact that some people's lives just suck and that sober, sane people willingly kill themselves. I would be much more interested in a show that explores why the suicide rate is rising and factors that influence people to commit suicide, rather than targeting specific individuals and flanderizing dead people.

I'm pretty sure this show exists as some weird anti-suicide psyop where they think naming and shaming will stop more people from killing themselves. "Better not kill yourself, or we'll humiliate you for it," as if most suicidal people give that much weight to such obvious manipulation tactics. It's the same archaic "if you disobey, we'll make an example out of you" crap that doesn't help anyone and just pushes people even further away from actually seeking help. Pro-lifers really are the true psychopaths, not suicidal people. They are the ones causing uneccessary suffering for nothing but their own detached entertainment.

I couldn't finish the whole thing, I kept disagreeing too much and it was becoming a timesink and major frustration for me. Some of them meant well, some of them were bashing their face into a brick wall and it hurt to watch.

"Oh they're ill and if they weren't then they wouldn't kill themselves" CURE MY FUCKING AUTISM!!!!!! I guess mom shouldn't have consumed tylenol when pregnant so I guess that's it for me then lol.

They kept playing some personal videos that felt a little out of place. They do the same thing with mass shooters iirc. Things like reading out their internet search history in court. This felt slightly similar to that.

I hate normal people at this point. No one's ever been nice to me in person lmao. The only time people really even talked to me was because they felt bad for my awkward ass. The parts of the documentary that I watched really angered me. All these people with university degrees, success, and relationships that I'll never have talking about how no one should kill themselves and refusing to look past their hand in front of their eyes. It's like they never even considered it's not that way for anyone else.

this. "oh my god look at me doing a good deed, villainizing this forum and reporting their sources to the authorities, ugh im saving so many lives im such a good person 😍😍😍" and then they close their laptop and thats their good deed for their entire life. No actual support, just taking resources away. Do they realize suicidal people will still find ways to kill themselves, idgi

I think its really sad that, here we are, at a point where none of that is given the attention it deserves but its easier to make documentaries like that then really dive into the wider scope of what is behind the rise in suicide rates. What also really shocks me is the responses to when someone does end their lives as my friend did, there's almost this gathering to attempt and understand what led to it like the continuous failure of systems in place as well as judgmental remarks toward the person and how could they do it as if it matters at that point anyway...the lack of understanding signed off with "to anyone thinking about it, dont do it because there's always someone willing to help, people love you" really doesn't make sense especially since a lot of these people are aware anyway, have tried but it never really made enough of a difference because the support was either stagnant or dismissive altogether. Everyone only cares to perform a postmortem after you've already taken your final breath.

Exactly this. Barring the people who personally knew a suicidal person like friends or family and are grieving someone they knew, randos like these show producers only "want to help" when there's no more work to do. They want the honor of being seen as a good, sympathetic, and helpful but only after it's too late and nothing can be done anyways.

Dealing with living suicidal people is too much work, and I don't even blame the average person for thinking that: dealing with a suicidal person can be very draining. However, there's no hypocrite I hate more than the ones who turn around and pretend they always cared when they never did. Genuinely sickening, manipulative behavior. These show runners never would have even known this person except now and only because they killed themselves. It would be less insulting if these people just turned a blind eye after someone commits suicide instead of seeking out those people who died by suicide just to use them as a stepping stone for their own martyrdom.

(edited for clarity)

It's interesting how all the families and close friends never take responsibility and always look for someone to blame (this forum or the "poison" sellers).

I watched some of the documentary, and it really angers me. Maybe if they had been more present in the lives of these poor people, they wouldn't have taken their own lives.

Or perhaps their pain was so unbearable that they made the final decision. Some don't seek to be saved, they just want peace once and for all. And they should understand that too. Not everything can be solved with empty words, medications or a hug.

People go through a lot of forethought and suffering until they've finally had enough of it all, and their only salvation is death.

I'm grateful for the forum; I've truly learned a lot since I arrived. At least we can leave this world knowing the chosen method well and having the least painful death possible.

Just finished watching the first episode and tbh I've never seen something that made me this angry. Ragebait - that's what this Documentary is. And honestly the portrayl of these so called "poison sellers" I mean like - Is it truly their fault someone decided to CTB? And saying stuff like "have you tried calling a suicide hotline or have you tried talking to a family member" is just bs. If I were to tell my mom how I've been feeling lately she would be heartbroken and saying stuff like "how could you" and so on.

I made it through less than 4 minutes of the first episode of the documentary. I feel physically sick. I feel unbridled anger and hatred. These people don't understand. But their crime is that they don't want to even try to understand. They have their agenda, and that's all that matters to them. The way they sensationalize the deaths of people who suffered in life. I do feel sadness for the families who were left behind. And some of their quotes resonated with me, because the actual words they said were so true, but their own supposedly moral high ground twists their meaning.

"It's a systematic failure of everything." The speaker meant that the government had failed to protect the people who died from an evil internet forum, from an evil supplier of a suicide method. The actual systematic failure is what made a world where someone felt a need to create that forum in the first place, and where others felt a need to seek it out.

"Every single victim needs justice." The speaker meant that these people were victims of the supplier providing the means to an end. The fact was, these people were victims of life, be it of abusive families, hateful governments or their own unconquerable personal demons. They were victims of a system that was always rigged against them. This documentary only fuels that vile system.

I would not wish the feeling of suicidality on anyone. It is a disgusting, crushing, vile state. It breaks you. I am so saddened that the thousands of other users on this forum experience it alongside me. I do not even wish it on the scum who made this documentary. All I wish is for them to understand. I wish they could make the smallest effort to get off their high horses, walk in the mud with the peasants, and recognize that life isn't a blessing for everyone.

I am so sick of a world where everything I think, say and do is wrong. Doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists: they all challenge everything that is fundamentally true to me, because, as they tell me, I'm not thinking rationally, I'm not being logical, I'm not using reason. They can't grasp that my reality is my reality. They're as deluded as I am. The makers of this documentary are what I would call mentally ill. They are not in touch with reality. They are trapped in their own bubble, convinced that their way is the only way.

I'm so hurt and so angry. All I can do is send my support to those of you here with me, and express my sadness for your suffering. Sometimes, the world really is, very literally, against us.
