• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I have been misdiagnosed and they put it all to "stress and anxiety" while my walking and other symptoms visibly are getting worse .
I have heard many stories on this forum too , everything gets blamed on stress, diet or lack of exercise .

Does this sound like your experience or did you have a smooth diagnosis ?
If yes, how did it affect your life ?

I was misdiagnosed with depression and possibly autism when I mostly have PTSD from growing up being bullied at school and abused at home. I was put on antidepressants at 14, poisoned with testosterone to make me fat and disgusting, so no one will find me sexually desirable enough to save me. So not only am I facially deformed because of my mother cracking my skull open as a child, my body looks male and disgusting when I was female from birth.

I don't know, but I was diagnosed with Asperger's aka autism level 1. I'm not sure if I actually have this though, or if it was a self-fulfilling prophecy. I was also diagnosed with ADHD and social anxiety, which I'm sure that I have

I was misdiagnosed briefly with autism as a child but it really didn't effect me at all.

I've had a lot of heart issues amongst other things the last few years and continued to get told it was fine and nothing was wrong. Eventually I ended up in a coma. Prior to having to intubate me for respiratory failure the notes from the emergency room all say they suspected it was intentional psych behaviour or a drug overdose. They still don't have many answers but at least they take me a bit more seriously now. However as my mental health has declined I've stopped seeking medical treatment for anything.

How did you know that you actually didn't have autism?

At the time I just went with it because I was a child. As an adult I now know it was actually undiagnosed ADHD. I don't struggle with social situations, I struggle with sitting still, paying attention, executive dysfunction. I dont treat my ADHD and I really don't give it much mind and I don't heavily identify with that diagnosis anyway so the misdiagnosis doesn't really matter to me.

Diagnosed with BPD and OCD, alongside depression and anxiety. Now looks like it's ASD and I've been told the depression might not even be depression but a burnout/meltdown.

All the shrinks keep telling me I have generalized anxiety, which I do. BUT it comes from my depression. Fix the anxiety, the depression is still there. Fix the depression, fix everything. Had to fight with them for a bit to get them to realize this but they eventually figured it out.

No but my Mum did and I think I can safely say it cost her her life. They misdiagnosed skin cancer as just an aggravated mole. By the time they finally took it seriously, she was pregnant with me and it was too late to save her. I don't have great faith in doctors.

Where do I even begin, all of my issues were misdiagnosed as anxiety and depression when I was a child, when actually the only real "mental" issues I had were autism and PTSD. No one realized I had PTSD until I was an adult, and I didn't receive an autism diagnosis on paper until high school. I was put on drug after drug that just made me feel worse and no doubt messed with my development.

Because I was assumed to be depressed, all of my physical health problems were treated like me being lazy and unmotivated. I have had GI issues and severe constipation for years which doctors labeled anxiety and "boy problems" whatever that means, until I finally got an MRI last year that showed massive tumors all throughout my ovaries and abdomen. One of them was over 13 cm and was blocking my bowels. This required major surgery, and there was scar tissue and adhesions all over my insides. Needless to say, the anxiety misdiagnosis almost killed me.

Every time I have a problem, doctors try to dismiss it as psychological so they can avoid doing any actual tests which cost money. I have a condition called chiari malformation where your cerebellum sinks into your spine, and doctors kept gaslighting me and saying I have some sort of psychosomatic problem causing me pain and fatigue, nope, my brain is sagging into my spine, you useless knobs. Then they tried to gaslight me saying I didn't even need such a "serious" scan in the first place!

I also have been suffering from chronic pain for many years, which the doctors insinuated was due to laziness and "not sticking to an exercise regime". Turns out I have lesions on my spine and severe degeneration, scoliosis, and a host of other fun problems.

They ruined my life and continue to ruin it, but I'm the only one who pays the price for their mistakes. Being a traumatized young woman means getting treated like a basket case whose problems are all in your head.

diagnosed with bipolar disorder & OCD & adhd.

But I think I have BPD (not bipolar) & OCD. I don't know anything about ADHD.

The past ten years I have felt like a drug trial. Constantly trying new meds.. unt I quit taking them 2 months ago, I was on 7.

That's a long list of health problems they couldn't find out .

A lot of doctors come up with any BS reason instead of doing the most common-sensical thing to do , believing the frigging patient . Just believe the frigging patients symptoms for gods sake . If somebody is saying they are constipated they probably are. Patients have eyes .
I wonder what the doctor said after your MRI showed tumors.

I don't want to be too specific about the physical symptoms that I had out of fear of being found, but those symptoms were regarded as anxiety related, and I started therapy. Well, there was a need for therapy nonetheless, so that's fine. But when the symptoms again became quite strong about 10 years later, I googled them, found the medical term, and voilà, the doctors confirmed them, but luckily they were harmless. That left a deep mark of feeling unheard and not being taken seriously...
