Have you ever watched a video of someone dying or committing suicide? What drew you to watch?

I have watched a number. Each time, I watch as if it were me and try to learn from it.
I find, in a detached way, that I am learning. But when I am not detached, I wonder if they were genuinely lonely as they died

I think it's morbid and won't watch things like that, but 'for science sake' they could be informative.

What method is used? If something is ingested, how much? How long until death? ...

I have. I don't remember why I watched them, but I didn't watch many of them. The ones I remember used firearms and those videos aren't very pleasant to watch with how messy it can be.

The suicide ones yes. I think that's the reason they chose to film it. I never watched any livestreams ones though. Only what had been uploaded later.

I've watched death on camera before, not because of any immoral needs, or anything that is tragic. I have been a person that is absolute neutral, and people don't have to die alone; I didn't leave even till the last breath, but the most I can do, is show that I am there, with no judgement.

That is quite a beautiful statement. You seem very much like someone who would provide the support some would need in their final hours.

After seeing it, it gave me some idea and knowledge of what it looks like when someone is dying, however, no one except for the individual themselves dying would really know what it is like. The most evidence and experience we have of what 'dying' really feels like comes from those who either have NDEs (Near Death Experiences), or those who failed to CTB and somehow survived.

I understand the morbid curiosity - even if I have a "higher" reason to look at sucide videos, the curiosity is always there

Only really the ones made at clinics. I don't seek out gore or anything like that. I guess I was curious really as to how fast and painless it was.

I can see why people do it to prepare themselves for their method. I think it might scare me too much though. If I'm going to do it, I'll go through whatever it is either way. Maybe some forewarning would be good but too much and it might put me off all together.

i've watched people hang themselves just to see what it'll be like for me. honestly i think it's mandatory if you want to ctb because i feel like it mentally prepares you for the attempt.

The only suicide video that has shaken me was of two schoolgirls jumping off a rooftop together. The fact two people with the exact same idea found each other and carried out a suicide without hesitation really surprises me. I do not think I have interacted with a person that experiences genuine suicidal intent apart from some users of this site.

I used to. I think maybe I was trying to talk myself out of killing myself.
I can't watch it anymore. I'm a deeply empathetic person & can't stand watching human suffering or death.
Its life changing in a very bad way for me. That stuff just cant be unseen

Not really if I'm being honest.

It depends. I won't be comforting someone who is hanging themselves, I don't think that will work. Those who ctb by sn might benefit from it though. I'm not fit for such a thing either way anyways.

I do not know. It probably depends on the type of person. I have assisted many people in death, both at home and in hospital. But in this case I couldn't answer you.
