• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Yes, I watched three people die very peacefully on videos. They all got euthanasia in Belgium and Switzerland. They are the lucky ones, but they were all old people with various illnesses.

I've watched some and also some accidents, murders too. Unfortunately I am still in a part of the process where it traumatizes me and makes me feel sick.
I WANT to be desensitized, that's why I watch it. Also because I want to learn from them - for example I just realized that I did partial hanging completely wrong, no wonder I could never succeed lol
My only problem really is that they make me want to throw up, I'm not sure why

I saw a vid ages ago of a dude that hung himself with a thickish wire and a liitle kid comes walking in and tries to save the dad by lifting him up but ultimately couldn't. That one was traumatic to me because of that poor child.

I get it we want to end it and thats fine but doing it while having a responsibility to a kid, it really puts me off and then doing it in front of the kid probably fucking that child up for life and that ain't cool.

A few, to see what happens with methods. Sadly, I only realise now that I did not even think of being detached or not, and it was purely for information.

Yes, just to learn and know what I'm going to face when I choose a method... I want to be prepared for that moment..

Do you think the person would have been comforted if you had witnessed live - the fact they might know someone is accompanying them

It's hard to say. If the person in the video was me, I would feel less alone and maybe that viewer is wishing me good luck so that I can finally "go in peace." I don't know if it's correct to say so, but, thanks to those people who have left their recordings, "we can try" (the method) more "safely" and achieve the goal.

I did it actually once. when I was pretty pretty young.
curiosity and reddit made me look into it and eventually I had found a website that just shows people suicide and or be killed.

generally speaking I relatively watched it for curiosity of how such things happen etc. but honestly now that I look back at it I think watching such videos as a kid probably wasn't a good idea.

I watched the Budd Dwyer suicide video. It's about as tame as it gets for a gunshot suicide, and I have zero interest in seeing anything that's more gory than that.

I've watched suicide videos for many hours recently. I spent about 20 hours watching new videos.

I told all my doctors and they don't care 🤷

Yesterday was the first time I watched, it was of a girl taking SN. I wanted to see what the process was like because I will probably follow the same path. Before that, I have never watched and wasn't aware of any videos of people committing suicide.

Do you think if you had been there in person or on webcam, you would have provided him/her with some comfort as a witness or accompanier

Do you think if you had been there, you would have provided some comfort - there as in webcam - so they didn't die alone

Yes absolutely I would comfort anyone that I knew personally.

If I saw a stranger attempting suicide I actually think I would try to keep them alive.

I always like to understand someone's intentions and I don't automatically make assumptions. But if I don't know the person, and I won't make assumptions about their intentions, then I would have to "save" them.

Have you ever done an assisted suicide in a hospital or health care centre
The questions you ask are very academic and, how should I say, therapist questions. I think you're here because of a research topic, because people have been watching this for a while and they've made it into a thesis topic. If that's why you're here, I think you should open a topic where you can express yourself more clearly, but I apologize if that's not your intention.

Yup, just morbid curiosity and when I felt shitty maybe to kinda live through these people, but mostly just my morbid curiosity and wanting to see what it looks like

I don't mean to be academic. I am actually looking for witnesses or accompaniers for my own suicide in the near future

From time to tine I watch gore videos and stuff, I managed to at least learn how death actually is, and of course it was different from how I imagined it. At least I managed to get some awareness.
I'm not scared about what will happen to me, my goal is death, how my body will react after is another thing.

I watch suicide videos from time to time. Sometimes to discourage myself from doing it - I watched one video of guy live-streaming his suicide on discord and the part where his parents find him is just haunting. Sometimes out of pure curiosity, to see how fragile life is. It's sobering.

I just remembered: when I was young I watched a video called 'Faces of Death'. My older brother got it from the video store. Supposedly, it contained homemade videos of people dying. Our teacher 'Communication Media' debunked the video by showing how shots were made from different points of view while the images were taken by accident by one guy. Later it turned out the video contained fakes mixed with some real images. Really convincing (at the time).

Nowadays everybody's got a camera, but now, more than ever, should one question: is this real or (deep)fake?

I used to watch stuff like that all the time as a kid, trying to desensitise myself because I thought that'd make me stronger and better at a future job handling trauma.
I don't think that way anymore, idk if it actually harmed me or if I was like this to begin with, but I doubt it helped.

Curiosity and method selection. I've watched jumpers, hanging, self immolation, SN and methadone OD. I've also seen some crime scene type of photos of the aftermath of partial and jumpers. Once in awhile I look at old 9/11 footage and stories about the jumpers. Seen a couple of trains too. There's some people on social media that are documenting their recovery from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

Even though jumping scares the heck out of me and is off the table for myself, I find the people that choose that route fascinating. I was in doctor office on 10th floor last week and they had floor to celling windows I could stand against and look down. Reminds me of a user here that jumped from 7 floors and survived but had a leg amputated. After my "research phase" I don't go looking for that kind of content very often.
