I think I have mentioned a time or two my pets are my life. In no particular order --

Dawg. He's a Bassett/Lab mix someone dumped at the lake about a half mile or so from my house. He's the old man around here -- best guess he's around 10 or so.


Snoop. He was dumped out at a friend's farm. Friend couldn't keep him. I couldn't NOT take him. As you can tell, he has absolutely NO personality at all! Probably 12-18 months, far as we can tell.


BatCat. One of a litter of 4 feral kittens the dogs found in the backyard. She got her name because she likes to hang upside down on the ceiling of the rabbit pen they stayed in when I had originally brought them in the house.


Ok, BatCat and her brothers, Garfield and Fat Bastard. Garfield got his name because he has the cartoon character's personality. Fat Bastard got his name because he's fat. AND he's a bastard.


The tuxedo is Harvey. He's my grumpy old man. He is NOT impressed with those babies sleeping on the dog's bed. Lol


This is Harvey in HIS spot. We learned very quickly that regardless of what we had designated as a spot for unopened mail was actually NOT a spot for unopened mail.


MissPriss. Her name says it all. SHE rules the roost around here. NOBODY does ANYTHING without her prior permission.


This is BabyGirl. She is actually a neighbor's cat but they stopped caring for her so she is now mine. She's not interested in coming inside the house. Yet.

Here are my spiders who both recently passed away. Prismo (black and white) was old and just deteriorated due to age and Boots (more colourful) was still young but unfortunately had a mismolt. I miss them a lot but I'm very lucky to have looked after them to begin with <3

Following, I wish I could post pictures of my dog here. I have atleast one person I know irl here and my dog is very easily identifiable. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I worry they would figure out it's me if they ever saw a picture of my dog.

Just wanted to say I'm in the same boat! I am happy to share photos of my pets if I can do so in a private message but my pets are way too easily identifiable for me to post photos of them publicly.

Spoiler alert: story has a very happy ending.

Well, my phone sucks so I can't post a photo, but I have this kitten that someone dumped in our store's parking lot when he was 6 weeks old. He was out their crying for his mom and a customer came in and said he'd been there two days. Hello? Why didn't she try to help him?? Anyhow, of course my coworker and I went out there and of course brought the kitten into the store and of course the manager lost it. So, of course I brought him home. His little eye was so infected it was swollen half way shut and his belly was bloated with worms. I got antibiotic eye gel online and dewormer and within days, he was fine. All he does is bite and fart, though. He attacks my ankles when I walk by and tore the curtains down, plus he's torn up I can't tell you how many toilet paper rolls. He loves to bite me. It took two weeks after getting him to name him, but his very appropriate name is now Nibbles because that is all he does. I love him so much. Whoever dumped that cat is an asshole but I am so lucky to have him. Grey and white stripe with beautiful brown eyes. And he purrs all the time. I needed a purrbox cat even if he is destroying my home and biting me. He is my baby.

This is Sadie. She's a rescue and is 11 years old today (10/31/24). My soulcat Paddy died near the end of 2022 and I could post a million pictures of him and tell a million stories. I've never gotten over his death and I always cry when I talk about him.

I love this thread is still going. Wherever you are Venin, thanks for starting it. You were a great contributor to the community.

My sweet cat Samus passed away a few months ago. She was old and her health deteriorated quickly. Although it was difficult, I'm glad that we were able to provide her euthanasia and she didn't experience much of the worst of old age. She was so sweet and I feel blessed to have known her.

Like leaves drifting on a stream, we met and then parted ways.

My bearded dragon, Harvey II, in different stages of life. He died a year ago around this time. He was so citr though and such a good boy. I taught him how to stand still for photos and taught him to run yo for me when I snapped my fingers a certain way. I miss him.

This is Steve (Harrington) or Stevie. I adopted him right after Stranger Things started, so that was the name he got stuck with.











I adopted him back in 2016 from old work place, and I think he's the closest thing I'll ever have to a kid.

I really struggle with my faith, but I'm convinced he must be some sort of a personal angel for me. He's pretty much the only reason I'm still alive.

This is Tobi. He had to be put down a few years ago due to a hernia. This was one of the last photos I took of him. Still miss him to this day.
