  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Hello Folks, hope u are all OK.

Just want to ask if you have experience with Psychoanalysis.
If so, for how long? I do it for about two years now, but just one hour a week, for my Therapist it is by far not enough. But I managed many things going wrong, now I have a much better life. I have a good job and my own House, which I couldn't have because to apply for a Job and getting a negative reaction was like a death sentence.

Seriously, this stupid therapists who told me to move instead of going to bed, just need some Asskicks. If you practise every day, your fear will lower and your self-trust will grow, they said. And after many Anti-Depressants, some therapies, the surprise. Nothing got better. Everyday was the same shit and struggle like before.

I can't imagine to overcome the underlying Depression, but am happy enough to have come to this stage. Some months ago, I had the opposite feeling ;-)

What do you think?

In counseling one can be supportive or confrontive. If you earn a living from those you counsel, you can put your income at risk by saying things unwelcome. As a result, many supplying therapeutic services tend towards saying things that make a person feel better, but may avoid that which could be helpful.

Another potential problem with therapy might be seen as an intrinsic conflict of interest. The sooner one gets better, the less income for the therapist. A person selecting a therapist might be advised to also consider the factor of integrity.

Well, in this Therapy, I have to do a lot which is and was not comfortable at all. Of course, in Psychoanalysis, the Therapist wouldn't tell you what to do, and even if he tells you, he would never force you, because you have your reasons not doing something. But I am not stupid, I always knew I had to apply for jobs if I wanted one. I knew that I had to leave home if I don't want to get abused. And I knew that lying in bed all the time is not good at all.

Yeah, integrity is very important. I need the feeling that if the Therapist was me, he would make it out. And about money, I really don't care. I have suffered so much, it is worth every penny I gave. Of course, you have to make an agreement with your Therapists. He won't make that job for free, but if you are willing to fulfill your part, both have to try to find a fair contract.

I think that modern psychoanalysis can cure severe mental disorders, but you must know that not every analyst is trained to work with us. There are special techniques for working with so called preverbal patients. Classical techniques like interpretation will not work.
