I apologize for not realizing this was disrupting the thread you made. Frankly, I never read the beginning of the thread. I just responded to jgm's questions where I was one of those tagged.

I understand you were responding to jgm's post, that you and a couple others were tagged in. That's why i figured it would spill over here. I just didn't want this thread turned into a debate about what happened.
I'm not taking any sides, because i don't have all the proven facts.

Well, there were various posts on this thread discussing why @Jean4 's name was crossed out / what happened, etc, so I thought this thread might be an okay place to post.
This thread's first post mentions "forum for some people that just want to get shit off there chest" and "people can talk openly and freely about WTF is going on."
I didn't want to create a dedicated thread to discussing the matter, since I felt that would just get deleted, since there seems to be a trend towards shutting down any discussion on the matter, so I felt I was running out of places where an opinion or view could be stated....

Onto the actual putpose of this thread... I kinda hope my workplace decides we have to work from home longer lol This 2 weeks at home has been fun, and I really want more time away from... well work... but at full pay.

My personal view based on my interactions with @Jean4 is that she's an authentic person, and has been falsely accused of lying.
I wanted a chance to express my view on the matter.

Surely a forum such as this should be a place where people can be freed of some of the injustices we see in the world-at-large ?
Do we want a forum where people are not allowed to express an opinion ?
A forum that silences people may drive them further towards wanting to CTB.
I'm sure that isn't the intention of a forum such as this.... (?)

I already explained that there were already posts on this thread discussing where she had gone, etc (although I still don't know why such an explanation should be required).

I'm not sure why I am being required to justify my choice of where to make a post, since I didn't realise there were such clear directives on such things.

This thread states "get shit off there chest" and "talk openly and freely", so I felt this was a safe place to do so....

I simply didn't invest a significant amount of energy into thinking about where I would make the post, since I didn't realise it was such a heated matter....

Overall, I don't really think I did anything wrong, however you seem unhappy with my actions, and overall I seem to have been attacked to a degree for stating my opinion....

When you tagged others in it, though, it indicated that you were inviting a controversial, emotionally charged debate - something that this thread has stayed away from in terms of content, even though it wasn't explicitly forbidden at the start. That's what @one4all is talking about here - the tonal inconsistency. This thread is meant for relaxed conversations - hence the name.

However, threads relating to this particular subject matter seem to be shut down and deleted as a matter of course, so I didn't feel I was able to create a thread on the matter.

As already explained a few times, I didn't feel I was able to create a thread on the matter due to the way in which this subject matter seems to get shut down so emphatically.
So I was left wanting to express a view on an important matter, but without feeling there was anywhere safe to do so.
I thought it might be okay to post here on this thread, given the statements in the thread's first post, regarding "get shit off there chest" and "talk openly and freely".
It seems I was mistaken....
In hindsight, perhaps the kitchen sink thread may have been a better choice, but either way I don't feel it should really be that big a deal... (although clearly some people think it's a very big deal).
I feel it's a pity that we cannot express a view without being attacked for doing so....
On a forum of this nature, you would think people would know better than to repeat all the BS that occurs outside of this forum, since this forum should be a safe haven from such cr*p.
Alas, it seems some people want to make this forum into just as cr*ppy an experience as outside of this forum.
Just a thought, but perhaps the people that do that should refrain from complaining about things of a similar nature that occur outside of this forum....

I haven't reported anything. I said that based on my observations that it's been the way of the mods in the past week or so to lock or completely delete threads, and based on this trend, I truly thought it was coming at any moment. But I do understand how you or anyone else could have misinterpreted my three, two statement, so I hope this clarifies.

As for my reason for not responding, I perceived the quoted comments -- perhaps correctly, perhaps incorrectly -- as baiting. I so wanted to nibble! You already know I have opinions on this subject, and that I don't shy away from a debate. But I withheld for two reasons. One, I felt a thread lock was imminent, and two, I respected @one4all's request to not have the conversation in this thread, as well as his explanation of the spirit of the thread. But law, it was hard to hold back!
